I had funding from my late husband's estate and...
I had no experience of private sector plastic surgery, but was well aware that there are many cowboys out there who are more interested in the money to be gained from people with physical problems rather than sound ethical concerns for the welfare of their patients.
I was very lucky that, in doing my research to see to whom I ought to go for help and advice, I came across a specialist I had known for years from my treatment at Christies Hospital following my neuroma. I needed to look no further. I knew Gary Ross as a skilled surgeon and a man of great integrity who I could trust. I knew this because Mr Ross does not necessarily give me what I ask for, as a cowboy would, but offers what he believes has the best chance of accomplishing what I want from a procedure. He does not flannel or rave about the latest product but explains with images what a patient can expect from a procedure and does not shrink from discussing the cons as well as the pros of a course of action. In doing this, Mr Ross instils trust in a patient. In my experience, this trust is consistently justified.
I had to lose weight to reduce the risks of my surgery, which I needed to do anyway so I did. The surgery itself was well planned and the after care was good. Mr Ross came into my hospital room himself to check on my progress. I came out of hospital the next day and I have not looked back since. It is very important for a patient who is able, to retain their autonomy as far as possible and Mr Ross and his team respect that while providing expert support on a patient's journey to recovery. I would not hesitate to recommend Gary Ross to anyone who is considering changing their body and wants a specialist who is not only expert in their skills but is also a doctor they can trust.
Provider Review
Gary Ross does not flannel nor extol the virtues of a latest product. He listens and then gives his expert opinion on the best and safest way for the client to have the best chance of achieving what they want. He then explains with images what the client can expect from a proposed procedure and answers all questions. This supportive approach instils trust in his integrity, a trust which is rewarded. I first knew Mr Ross several years ago as a patient at Christies following acoustic neuroma partial excision, with commensurate facial nerve damage. I soon became confident in his undoubted expertise but also his positive interpersonal skills. I enjoy having a joke and a banter with him, which is something not every professional is confident enough to undertake. When I had the funding to improve the effects of the nerve damage as well as repair a torn abdominal muscle and remove excess tissue, Gary Ross was my first choice and I have been delighted with the results. I would not hesitate to recommend Gary Ross and his team to anyone requiring remedial or aesthetic plastic surgery and looking for a specialist they can trust.
