I have huge overhang at the front and am diabetic type 2, have sleep apnoea and am now an ex smoker as I just gave up to have this operation done. I have good muscle tone but an awful lot to cut off - primarily where I injected insulin into the same part of my body for so many years, its all lumpy and bumpy and I so want it to be flat. It will solve a lot of my other problems and will make it much easier to exercise and move around without dragging this huge lump in the front of me all the time.

I cant afford the UK prices. Has anyone had this done abroad please and can recommend someone?

I just found out its a minimum of 8k to have this op done alone in the UK and I can't find that sort of money. So i am going to have to go abroad which concerns me purely because of the aftercare - I don't think it will be a smooth op and need to be sure I will get the best aftercare. Does anyone have experience of a great surgeon abroad?

Hi I think you will find that you can get cheaper than that in the UK, is it a tt only? Mine was I think £6706 and that also included a breast revision on work carried out by another ps years back.I would seriously reconsider going abroad!!

yes its just a tt - my surgeon wouldn't do anything else because of my BMI and the length of time I would be under anaesthetic - which shows that she is responsible and knows what she is doing and I would like to have her do the job but I just cant find that kind of money - my only option seems to be to go abroad. The other surgeon in my area wouldn't touch me unless I got my bmi down to 30!!

If you have only had one consult I would suggest you have a few more it really is amazing to compare PS', it could be said that the other surgeon in your area is being the responsible one, just my opinion, there are far more risks when you have a higher bmi. Whatever you do you will not regret it:)

Hi foxxyroxxy Ive wanted a TT for a long time and have been looking into it alot there is no way i want to pay 6k up for it here in UK. A friend of mine is having one done next month in prague she had her boobs done there a few years ago and a friend of her's had a TT there aswel cost for a TT is around £1800 with lipo its just over £2000 then flights and stay in hotel after op but you do spend 2 nights in clinic after op. I am going over to bring her home as you have to have someone with you on flight home stay is min 6 days in prague. So im going to see how her's goes then book mine as im too nerves she isnt at all as she has had boobs done in same place and went with her friend when she had her TT.

With your underlying health problems I would stay close to home. The suggestion from the other PS to get your BMI down to 30 is a good one. The surgeons in my area won't operate if a patient has aBMI over 30. If you are aiming for a flat tummy you have to realize that there is a lot of visceral fat around your organs and your tummy won't be flat like you may envision - just flatter than it is now. Just some things to consider. Best of luck on your journey. L
