Hi everyone! I am having a long awaited septo/rhinoplasty in a few days. I had my nose fractured as a child and it has been crooked ever since. I also don't like how large/wide my nose is and the ball tip. I am so excited about finally having the procedure, but my nerves are beginning to set in! I will share some pictures along the way and would really appreciate any advice and how you dealt with surgery/recovery and any support. Thanks so much!

I am really excited to see your results! You already have a beautiful face and this is going to just give you that extra edge and throw you over into extra-super gorgeous status. I am excited for you. My biggest urging is to use saline religiously for the following weeks. If you don't, you will develop a nasty smell because of hardcore scabbing and some of those things hang on for a very long time. I am at 6 months post op and dealing with it still. Had CT and culture and no infection or fungal issues, just the smell and I think it is from not using that spay as much as I could have. Be prepared for swelling to come and go and my biggest suggestion is to please not consume too much salt. Stay away from canned soups, lunchmeat, etc. Anything that is over 5% daily total of salt per serving is something I would avoid the next few months. Your face is so vascular and salt just loves the swelling of a nose and is a real antagonist. Also, if you can take arnica pellets and bromelain, they really help with bruising to break up post-rhinoplasty. Get a good toner for your nose, because you won't be able to scrub it as hard post-surgery for a good while. Those bones take time to set and have some give several weeks after surgery, even longer for some with septo and turbinate components. Keep your head elevated, if you have a recliner, girl, sleep in it. It helps the swelling work its way down to keep your head up. Patience is the biggie. There will be moments in your recovery that you will think, "What did I do?" There will be moments you are over-the-moon happy. It is a rollercoaster sometimes and mostly due to the swelling. Your real results will appear more after the 3 month mark and I see continued changes at 6 months. I am excited for you!! Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions you don't want to ask "outloud" if you get to that place. I am here!

Hey girl! Thank you so much for replying! You are very sweet and absolutely beautiful yourself. Did you use the saline and squirt it into your nose? How bad was the after surgery pain? I'm so ready for it to be over with! My nerves are really getting to me today! Thank you for the tip on sodium! I had not thought about that! I have been crying all day from just nerves and being an overly emotional person! I'm sure tomorrow will be emotional for me, and I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and have someone to relate and talk to!
