Dr Peter Kim was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.did not have the feeling of being in safe hands. Did not explain procedure and after care measures. He stuffed up a filler one time made my cheeks look uneven and lumpy. Had to return for it to be dissolved. The procedure was also performed without explaining properly. All he says was will look younger. Please be very careful on this practitioner.

This is Dr. Peter Kim.
I am so sorry that you have a bad experience. It would be great if you can reveal yourself so that i can try to work out what has happened here. But I am glad you have found a medium in which you can reveal your frustration.
Filler injection of the cheek, especially the dark circles, can get a bit lumpy. The reason for lumpiness is because the filler swells after it has been injected into the dermis. That is because the filler absorbs water. And that is why the injected area sometimes go little lumpy. However, it is unusual to look lumpy over the cheek where the skin is thick. The high-risk area that can go lumpy is usually the area with thinner skin such as dark circles and lower eyelids. I presume, the lumpiness was a bit too much and that is the reason why this patient was upset. In that case, I usually inject hyalase to dissolve the filler (at no charge). And we ask the patient to return in few days and refill - except in this instance I inject a smaller amount of filler to prevent lumpiness, i.e. overswelling of the injected filler. We have a policy, where we do not charge you for dissolving injection if required and we do not charge for additional top up required to refill the dark circle if needed.
As to consent, I always discuss the possibility of lumpiness when treating the dark circle or tear trough area before the treatment. This is one of those complications that can happen and it is not because the professional negligence. I am personally not aware of any cosmetic practitioner who has not had this particular complication before.
I hope this patient is happy now. If this patient would like to return to see me, I would be more than happy to discuss this.
