STARTED EXERCISING 12 JANUARY 2015

WORTH IT$43,773
Starting riding my stationary bike today.
I rode for 5 minutes and a distance of 1.08 miles. Yeah.
I haven't been on the incumbent bike for years.
I plan to get on again today. My goal is 30 minutes a day.
It is raining here so I didn't want to walk today.

Good for you! Clap clap clap.
:)
I hope I get some that to rub off on me, just don't seem to have the energy.
The nutritionist said "just do it". Even if it is one minute, it is one minute more than doing nothing. My plan is to walk on good days and bike on bad weather days. My doctor has a goal of walking 2 miles a day at 2 months postop. WOW! Wanda Spotsylvania, Virginia
my doctor's nurse said she want's me to walk 30 mins on threadmill 5 days a week. and I am to get my heart rate up and sweat. I am a person that doesn't sweat in 90 degree heat in the summer. and at 65 yrs old just can't do it. I am getting a eliptical machine off of daughter in law it is supposed to be easier on the knees.
Dr told me I have to exercise until I sweat also. A few years back I had Lumbar Stenosis and had back surgery. I was told to get the incumbent stationary bike. I sit down in it. It has back support and handle bars but you peddle like you are in a paddle boat. It isn't hard on the knees, back, butt and neck.
I had a accident about twenty years ago and have had two back surgeries. I also have had numerous surgeries including knee's foot, hand etc. due to my arthritis. I was told by the drs. nurse to get a elliptical and I am going to try that. thank you maybe an incumbent will be my next step.
I started walking 10 to 13 miles a week last March. After 8 months I lost exactly 2 pounds.: ( I was being careful with my diet as well. This has been my difficulty for years Exercise helps me feel good, but it is not very effective for weight loss in my case. Of course the overall health benefits are numerous. Good Luck.
You will definitely burn fat on the elliptical. Good luck. We will be sweating to the oldies. Lol Bad joke. Richard Simmons.
Wow. 10-13 miles a week. That is great. Sorry it didn't help you lose weight.
I did go on treadmill yesterday, lost 1#. was out all day today and couldn't push myself when I got home and will get back on tomorrow. going to florida for a week and would like to get down to 179# that would be 2.6#. I think I can accomplish that on the treadmill.
Good for you. The problem is if you don't like the exercising you are doing it's very hard to be motivated. I go to a wellness center and do water aerobics 4-7 times per week (60+ min/day) and absolutely love it. I love the other women my age that go also. I stay more limber, have social time and it's time away from home & food. My husband and I are walking 15 min. each night on our treadmill. So I'm doing 2 different types of exercising that make me sweat. My weight may be staying on the same numbers but I am firming up. Wanda, I hope you can find something you really do enjoy. I'm heading to Florida in 2 weeks where I will be walking, riding my outdoor bike and doing water aerobics. Move it or it will rust.
My hubby and I are walking 30 minutes each night.
Gosh you are doing good.

Monday 12 JANUARY 2015. 5 Weeks POST op

I am going to try posting comparison pictures.
12/8/2014
01/8/2015

I purposely wore the same outfit in both sets of pictures.
I could really tell the difference in my clothes.
Pre surgery I wore a size 16 pants, 2X blouses or dresses.
My size 16 pants are hanging down my hips. Funny I look like a sad sack because my crotch hangs down about 4 inches. Lol

Time to get some clothes that fit.
I love hearing this bit of news! I can hardly wait until I can post this as well. My surgery is on Jan. 30, so I plan to walk 13 to 15 miles a week so I can go into it as strong as possible! Happy for you!
Yes it is:) I am excited to see what clothes will fit.
I am going to florida for a week so I got some of my summer clothes out and had to get rid of most of them. lucky that I do have some smaller clothes that I grew out of, until those get too big I think i'll be alright.

I didn't realize this outfit was too big until after I wore it awhile.

Isn't it great to melt in your clothes so they are too big! Congrats to you. Do you have any weight loss numbers for us? Maybe a 'before' picture?
I am a shorty. 5 ft 2 inches Nov 6, 2014 236 lbs Dec 8, 2014 227 Day of surgery Jan 8, 2015 204 lbs One month post op. All my clothes are too big. I have a few smaller clothes. My jeans are a size 16 and they are falling off. I don't want to invest alot of money in new clothes because I plan on losing more weight. I was thinking about going to the Goodwill store to get me a couple pairs of pants.
It feels great. :)
I have a wonderful consignment shop where I sell then use the money I make to buy "new to me" things. This has worked quite well for me since I had a lot to sell. Enjoy the smaller sizes. I bought 2 sweaters over the week-end in size Large. I don't remember the last time I could get into a size Large.
Thank you for the information. We have a couple of those shops here in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Wanda
lookin' good, Wanda! Nice to put a face with a name, too :)
Thank you:)
