I had my only child when I was 20 years old. I gained 50+ pounds during my pregnancy and carried her very high. Due to a cephalopelvic disproportion (her head was too big for my pelvis), I ended up delivering her by C-section. I have never able to get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 135lbs, no matter how hard I have tried! Later in life I let my weight soar to over 215 pounds. Because I hated how I looked and felt, in 2007 I made a pledge to myself to make a change. I started to exercise regularly, eat better, and do whatever necessary to keep my BMI in a healthy range for my 5'8" frame. I have successfully lost and maintained my weight since then. (I ran my first 13.1 in Sept 2014!) But left over from my pregnancy and weight gain, I have this round, flabby belly that I despise. No matter how much I exercise, I cannot get rid of it!

Now I face a new hurdle in life: a much needed hysterectomy. I have decided this is the perfect time to also get the tummy tuck I have dreamed about for so long! My GYN recommended Criswell & Criswell. I have had my initial consultation and am so excited to begin this journey! I am currently 4-6lbs heavier than I want to be, so I am hitting the gym hard to lose the extra "baggage" before my surgery date. I want the rest of my body to match my future flat tummy and have muscle mass to maintain my metabolism while I recover. I will pre-pictures closer to my surgery date!

You are getting the works, I love it!   From now until surgery just focus on being healthy and strong.  Once you have the surgery it really motivates you to keep going on the last few pounds.

Can't wait to see your before and after pictures.

When you went to your gyn did you schedule the two procedures together because you mentioned they suggested criswell?

No... my GYN recommended Criswell. The surgery date was arranged after my Consultation with Dr. Criswell. It took about a week to find a date that worked for all 3 of us.

It is so embarrassing to post pictures with my belly hanging all loose & free. I can't wait for the day I don't have to try to suck in all the fat in my bathing suit or when posing for pictures. My Pre-Op appointment is in two weeks & my surgery is not under a month away!

Pre-Op Yesterday

My Pre-Op was yesterday. My darling husband joined me so he could also hear the Post-Op instructions since he will be my caregiver. I almost hit the floor when the MA reviewed my WEIGHT out-loud with him present. OMG!! I'm not over the shock of that yet. That was the one thing I never in my life planned on him knowing. I also had to have my pictures re-taken. Nude. Add that to the weight overshare, and my humiliation is now complete. 14 days to go!
