I am in the waiting mode for tummy tuck. I have been wanting one since 1990 when I gave birth to my second child. I am excited but nervous at the same time. I gave up smoking as directed (that was not fun). I went for my pre op this week and was given all the supplements to take along with my compressions garments. As I get closer to the procedure the more nervous I get about my recovery time. Can anyone tell me how they did with their recovery?

Getting down to the wire. Bought most of the things on my list today. Will be renting an electric hospital bed for my recovery so that will not be delivered until a few days before. Having a difficult time choosing protein bars because I don't know which ones taste good. HELP! Have a short list of things to purchase a few days before from the store because shelf life is not long. Still worried about recovery time and if I took enough time off from work. My fiance will help me take some before picture so I can get those posted. Can anyone tell anything that helped with their recovery that I may not have thought of?

Have 5 more days until my surgery. So excited!! I have picked up the final supplies on my list. The only thing left to get will be fresh protein and silicone sheeting strips. Can anyone tell me about their experience with silicone sheeting strips and the best ones to get? When do you begin using them?

Hey girlie welcome to the community!
I am happy to hear you are renting the hospital bed. This was a life saver for me and I could not have made it the first two weeks without it. I cried the day they came to pick it up..LOL
I have a couple of favorites for protein supplements. #1 is the Endure Protein Plus shakes. The chocolate is amazing. The vanilla is also good and even better when you blend frozen strawberries in it. I also like any of the Atkins bars. It's really good to have them on hand.
Keep me up to date on everything.
You sound very organized and ready to go!! Everything will go well for you and we will all be here to support you.
I never had to wear a compression garment after surgery so I do not have any experience with them. The most I ever wore were Spanx my first two weeks back to work. Here is a link to a forum post about Compression Garments which may help.
