32 Years Old, Mother of 1, Ready to Get Healthy! - Charlotte, NC

I'm 32 years old, married with a daughter. I've struggled with my weight all my life. Early adulthood is when the weight really started piling on and it became harder and harder to get it off. I've toyed with the idea of WLS for about 10 years now. I made the decision to go through with it this spring and had my initial consultation on 4/2. I've already completed all of my pre-requisite appointments, had my EGD and sleep study. I'm scheduled to be sleeved on 8/6/15. I'm nervous about the surgery itself as it will be my first major surgery, but I'm super excited for the journey. I start the liquid diet on 7/23. Two weeks on all liquids pre surgery is going to be a big challenge, but I'm ready for it! Any advice and support you'd be willing to give me would be greatly appreciated!

I start a 2 week pre-op liquid diet next Thursday. The closer it gets, the more excited I get. I'm so ready to begin this new chapter in my life and to get this weight off. I'm looking forward to this challenge and becoming a better version of me!

Tomorrow starts my pre-op liquid diet. I've been so excited. I met a good friend for lunch today. After lunch we decided to have some ice cream. She convinced me to live it up while I could. We got our ice cream and sat outside on their patio in a very public and very popular shopping complex. In mid conversation, my chair broke and my ice cream went flying. Needless to say I was completely mortified. This incident makes me yearn for this surgery even more. I can't wait for the day where I don't have to worry about breaking chairs. I can't wait for the day when I can feel normal in public. *sigh*
