Eight year update
Hi - I'm sorry, it's been a long while as I don't use this account. It's been 8 years since my fat transfer surgery with Dr. Bednar and the fat remains! I've noticed when I gain or lose a few pounds, they do affect boob size a little. Overall, I don't regret this surgery (I do regret having the first surgery and not going to this doctor from the start) as there has been good retention. Good luck to anyone doing it!
1-month update (late!)
Technically it's been slightly more than 5 weeks but the pics are from last weekend anyway.
Boobs seem to be holding on in size more or less but it's kinda hard to tell since I'm seeing them day in and day out. I feel some relief that I've bypassed the 1-month mark and they haven't disappeared on me! That's my biggest fear. While I would prefer a different breast shape, I am extremely grateful to have any boobs at all. Dr. Bednar tends to add more fat to the sides, making breasts wider in shape. And they have less protrusion than I'd like but I had so little breast tissue to start out with. I imagine that factors in to the final shape. Of course I would have liked more symmetry in size as well. The right boob is smaller than the left. But at the end of the day, I've got boobs! They're not huge or anything but I'm totally ok with that. I don't mind having small boobs. I'm just glad not to be so flat any more.
Physically I'm still not at 100%. I don't really exercise but I walk a lot and often go on walking tours on the weekend. And when I'm running late for work (which happens frequently), I will jog/run the last few blocks! But I've noticed that everything takes more effort. I'm walking more slowly and I have to make a concentrated effort to keep up with certain friends who tend to walk at a faster pace. I stopped wearing the compression garment around the 4-week mark. I went without it one night and it felt so good that I just couldn't bring myself to put it back on! Indents on the sides of my buttocks are still apparent. Will take a while to get used to that. There's still some numbness in those areas as well. Incision sites/scars are pretty horrendous looking. All of them are very noticeable at this point. But I'm only putting scar cream on them once a day instead of two because I'm usually in a hurry to get out of the house in the morning except on weekends. Does it make that huge of a difference? If so, I'll make more of an effort to put scar cream on in the morning. New observation - I've been noticing some unevenness in the back of my thighs. Not that my thighs were so amazingly smooth before but any added flaws to my already flawed body would kinda suck. I'm keeping an eye on that area and will post some pics later this week.
I have my first follow up call with Dr. B. in a few days. If there's anything new to report, I'll post an update!

Butt dents!
I know for a lot of women, this would automatically be cause for a "Not worth it" vote, but I'm willing to wait and see if I can retain the transferred fat to the breasts. Prior to surgery, I had considered telling the doctor outright not to take any fat from my butt at all but I was worried that he wouldn't be able to find enough fat. I figured he would do what he needed to do to make this surgery successful. I've never really liked my butt anyway - I always thought it was too big and quite frankly, I'm not a fan of the big butt trend. However, that being said, I thought if I lost any fat from my butt area, it would result in less protrusion but the area the fat was actually taken from (sides) makes my flat butt look even flatter as they're now indented! So this was not the result I was expecting. I wonder if I gained a little weight, would it help fill out the dents a little....?
