I just got home today from 2 days in the hospital. My menstrual bleeding from being on the blood thinner xarelto was so severe I lost 2/3 of the blood in my body. Had to rush to the ER for a blood transfusion. Obviously I'm off the xarelto now. But I had to have a mesh IVC filter placed in one of my veins to catch any future blood clots. The ones I had have dissolved

But now I'm feeling much better. All the complications I have had are resolved. My healing from the tt and ba is going great. I can stand up straight, all my drains are gone. A lot of the swelling is down. I really feel things are looking up now.

Great news! Glad to hear you're back on the road to recovery :-) and continued Happy healing! I'm apparently going through swell hell this week . . . I thought that would happen sooner than this and it's not fun. But I know I am fortunate to not have gone through what you had to go through. That must have been very scary for you :-(

I have blood clots in my leg now. Am on blood thinners and have been having a hemorrhagic period for 2 weeks. Have just been put on progesterone to try and stop my bleeding. And have found out I'm severely anemic due to all the blood loss. I'm so weak and tired all the time. I'm sick of changing pads and tampons every hour. This was a huge mistake.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through such a difficult time. How did you know you had blood clots? Did they hurt or did your leg get swollen? I hope things turn around for you and you start to feel better soon (((hugs))).

Still have drains

This past Tuesday I went in for my 2 week post op visit with Dr Criswell. It was a good appointment. She said everything looks good. I am feeling great. The open incision on my left hip was closed up using steri strips. The surgical tape on my breasts was removed. And then the 2 drains that were not collecting any fluid. Instead of her removing them like I thought, she decided to loosen the sutures and pull them out a little further and tada! They both were blocked with clots below the opening, so she got them draining again and wants to see my in a week. I was so disappointed they had to stay. But she did say she thinks I will definitely get at least 2 removed next time. I can still feel something moving in my right breast sometimes, but not nearly as often as I used to. Dr Criswell has decided to wait another week before teaching me how to massage my breasts. I don't know if what I'm feeling is actually movement or my muscle tightening. It's just a weird sensation. Also, she removed the tape from my belly button. It looks good. I have to keep it covered with gauze and neosporin.

I don't remember if I mentioned the blisters I have on me. They popped up wherever there was tape on me holding down gauze or a dressing. I guess it was from irritation of my binder on the taped area. The blisters formed then filled with blood. I left them alone and they dried up and fell off. But now the tape on the steri strips covering my incision opening is doing the same thing. I have 2 huge blisters. Maybe it's an allergic reaction.

I have been out and about more. Trying to condition myself for going back to work on Monday. I am a receptionist in an endodontic office. So I really do sit down most of my day. Driving has been ok. I drive really slow now though lol. I'm afraid of sudden stops. I have found that wearing skirts out and going commando still is the best for me. Wearing pants irritates the drains in my mons, and they get sore.

I am going to go out today and buy some granny panties and see if they help. Am counting down the days until my appointment on Thursday!
