4 Year Update
I will post photos in the next few months when I have time. My breast size has gone down since the most recent photos posted. Mostly it has gone down in size in the upper breast region which makes them look much more natural. I would say I am halfway in size between my before and most recently posted after photos. The scars are all faded in color except for the one above my butt crack. That is still a light shade of grey. The other scars are now just a small line, but no discoloration.
Bruising
I'd love to hear from other ladies regarding bruising. My skin still shows a faintly dark color where all the bruises originally were. I'm concerned that since my skin is pretty translucent in general (veins show very easily through my skin) that this will be permanent. Of course, this is something that will take more healing time to fully determine, but I'm so concerned!
Pictures at Day 44
Phew! It's been such a roller coaster of emotions since the surgery. The fact that we won't know the final results of our breasts and liposuction is nerve wrecking.
Breasts: I'm incredibly satisfied with the size of my breasts so far. In fact, they're bigger than I expected they'd be. They're a beautiful shape, but I'm concerned that they don't look natural! What do you think?
Liposuction: I've been obsessing over the liposuction areas. They look fine and smooth, except for a minor back roll that I didn't have before (in the center of the back). When running my hands across the liposuction areas, I do feel tough scar tissue which I hope will disappear with more time.
I'm most concerned about my butt though! I was really happy with my butt before surgery, but now I notice that my pants are fitting much looser in the butt area. It's not too apparent from the pictures, but Dr. Bednar removed fat from the side of my butt cheeks which he said would make my butt appear to pop out more. It does pop out more, but it also lost its width (again hard to see in the pictures). It's really weird to try and grab my cheeks and not feel as much fat to grab. Everyone has different preferences and the way it looks is aesthetically pleasing to some, but I prefer having a bigger booty rather than smaller. I'm disappointed that I had to give up some of my butt to grow boobs. I wish I had been more adamant before surgery not to remove fat from my butt.
Scars:
The scars under my breasts and back are the darkest. I think I have to give up on obsessively applying scar cream multiple times a day because my scars don't seem to be lightening up. For me, I don't think there's anything to do that will lighten them any faster and the best thing to do is just give it time.
Shingles!
Because of the stress that is put on our bodies from surgery and recovery as well as stress from work and personal lives, our body is in a much more vulnerable state. Mine sure was and although shingles is mainly developed by people over 60, I got them at 28 across my chest to my armpit. The red bumps looked like irritation from the bra at first, but the fact that they appeared to be filled with pus (indicative of shingles rash) alerted me to the possibility of shingles. If that happens to you, make sure to go to your doctor immediately to get a prescription for anti-viral medication! It will shorten the healing time if you take it within the first two days.
