The no-tension stitches have devolved and my incision looks great. I anticipate not having a scar at all in a year. I was freaked out at first because my incision seemed higher than most but if there is no scar who cares were it is. It is so very very thin, pic doesn't do it justice. I gained weight on vaca and noticed a bulg above my belly button. Getting on track again, eating and exercising like before. Dr.Ruff does not like to do lipo @ same time as TT so I've gotta do "gym-po" to get it right, get it tight lol ;-)! I'm so happy, before I had f I much redundant skin and now it's gone! This time I slim down I'll be able to see the results. TTYL RealSelf!

I didn't have love handles b4 the surgery, thats swelling. Incision looks great, still raised to keep tension off it but will start flattening out soon. It is already starting to and there is virtually no scar. Patiently watching the progress, looking back at the b4 pics helps a lot! Hitn the gym too, you have to take personal responsibility for your success as well. The plastic surgery is a tool, not magic. you can't sit back and not be proactive. I'm eating clean again as well.

Looking good. I saw Dr. R as well as am so impressed by the lack of tension on the incision. I too now have love handles. Do you regret not getting lipo of the flanks? He told me he didn't think it was needed.

Well, at this point my "love handles" could still be swelling. I still have lots of swelling above my belly button ( for like 6 inches) as well. Only 6wks into a year long process (as my hubby reminds me lol). To me it was worth the trade-off of no lipo to go drainless. When I get discouraged about how long the recovery is I look @ my b4 pics and am see have far I've already come. Even if I do have love handle, I will exercise them away. That extra skin and stretched out muscles in my abdomen were a hopeless case. With the muscle repair and skin removed I can finally see the results when I hard work in gym & eating right. I've got work to do, but I've been given a fresh start. Happy healing!

Looking good. It really is a very long road to full recovery. I'm just a bit over 6 months and the swelling is finally better the last week or so. It comes and goes. Exercise makes it worse before it gets better ( for me anyway). It took 3 kids and extra weight for me to get to my pre surgery belly so I can wait 12 months to see the final result. It is such a comfort knowing that my skin will never overhang like that again. At 65 next month there is no chance of more babies, that's for sure. I'm just blessed and greatful to be on the flatside. You have a great attitude and will be just fine. Praying that you continue to heal well. You look great already.

5 wk checkup
PS says no more binders/ compression garments. Only time and nature will get the swelling down. Incision looks great, no tension closure still raised to keep no tension on incision. He said it should be smoothed at next checkup, by then tension will not affect scar healing. I switched from neosporen to silicone gel/ vitamin e although PS says no topical ointment necessary. It makes me feel like I'm doing something to help. I was cleared to workout and do everything I was doing pre surgery! I worked out today, so glad to be back exercising.

How are u finding the swelling now??? Well done u look fab!!! I'm 9 days post op and I look like I have a fat pouch in my upper ab that dangles when I lean forward... I'm really hoping its swelling

July 30, 2015
No swelling now, I needed to drink less wine and more water lol......and clean up my diet. 9 days is very early, you are definitely just swelling. You will change so drastically over the next couple weeks. Try not to freak out, although it's had not to do. First month I was crying, full or regret, upset about this and that. Most of those things have cleared or are getting better. If the pouch still there at a year then there is a prob. Until then just hope for the best or at least try lol. when I was at your stage my husband was trying to comfort me and I would have none of it lol, it gets better ;-)

Thx for that, today's been a shitty day with lots of tears and I totally could do with a bottle of wine pmsl!!! It's a real help to know that what I'm feeling is normal..... My husband has been great and i also told he has no idea how I'm feeling and I'm fat and ugly lol thx for the positive kick in the butt... I needed that

July 31, 2015
Oh completely normal! After all the build up you wanna be the "after pic" immediately! But it takes time. Try to have patience w/ the hubby, all I wanted to do was kick mine in the face too but they're doing the best they can with little to nothing to work with in terms of experience or preparation. ;-) Happy Healing & keep me posted!
