Face , Neck and Upper Eye Bleth - Mexico
ORIGINAL POST
I was going to post, but you reading your journeys...
WORTH IT$6,500
I was going to post, but you reading your journeys in the past three months have been very helpful to me. I'm 52 years old and had my procedure in Mexico. I was prepared for the first three weeks, but had no idea the emotional roller coaster after. Took three months for me to Say "it was worth it" . My experience was great, I just hated all the ups and downs. At this point I do have some residual swelling, the normal numbness around sides of face, ears and neck. I can tell you that salt is your enemy! On days when I can't help myself I wake up the next morning and can feel my face is tighter then normal and I hate that it feels so funny that I think about it all day. Once it swells, it takes about 2-4 days to reduce. Ugh! And of course, no one can tell but you ???? . I do have some divits on my right side, but I know it's because my muscles have not yet separated in all areas. Another way you can tell it's swelling and not your normal look is some days when you wake up in the morning your sleep lines are much deeper and seem to take hours to go away. ????
I loved my physician, I loved San Miquel De Allende . Knowing what I know now, I would do it again. Below are the photos my Physician just sent me from day of surgery and my three month I just sent him. Funny how people don't notice, they must forget your before as easily as you do. Good luck to all, and thanks for sharing your journey with me.

My Hospital Suite
I was in the hospital for three days in a two room suite. Both rooms had TVs. The Bed area had two beds and a leather recliner, you could bring a guest at no attic all charge. The day of surgery was nothing like the US. A kind nurse came in and started my IV and then a young gentleman came in and that's all I remember until my husband called from the Aphganastan early evening. (he joined me 5 days later). No general Anesthesia. Was on IV for the rest of that day and the next and was in no need of pain meds after. :). I stayed in a lovely villa I found on VBRO with private cook and housekeeper for 1200 bucks for my 14 night stay. Would not have done anything different.

I'm also 52 and you already looked great for 52 so now you look even better. I'm just starting to do research with hopes of saving up enough by 54. How did you choose your doctor? How did you decide on Mexico? Where did you get follow up care? Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi Lucy, I spent a couple of years doing research. It started when I saw a news report on CNN about surgeries in Mexico. The idea of not being at home, staying in the hospital for a few days, taking a vacation at the same , and not going under general anesthesia appealed to me. I saw some local Dr's and everyone basically said the same thing and the fees were double. I actually found the surgeon that did the FL on the lady I saw on CNN. He was not easy to find as there was some misrepresentation on another website. After I confirmed he was the real deal I contacted the local Liason and started communicating she was great answered all my questions, sent me testimonials as they came in, gave me references ect. In the end I went with my instinct. I did go back and forth a few times, but we tend to do that when we get nervous about something. I had minor surgery hear in the States and it's just a pain.
I was not to worried about aftercare. I knew I was in The hospital under IV for the first couple of days and could handle the rest on my own. I could have stayed at a care facility, but chose not to. The only thing I wanted was privacy. My physician came to the house for everything after I left the hospital. He was also available for me 24 hours a day, but I never needed him. My husband arrive day 5 right about the same time, I felt like I needed to get out of the house. We spent the next 10 days enjoying the area, and relaxing. I wanted the experience to be just that, not just a day I went and had a FL. It's been a long journey but the act itself was memorable. Great Caring People, Beautiful Country, The surgery at this point is actually secondary .

Beautiful results! I have heard that Facelift recovery can definitely be full of ups and downs. Glad you made it through most of those and are happy you did this. Will you be naming your doctor so others can find him?

Sure. Dr Carlos Barrera. The Liasons website is faceliftmeup.com. And her name is Dawn.

You look fantastic! Had I known I would have gone to your Dr. I had Dr. FH, Dallas TX. And I'm very disappointed. I still look the same as if I never had a facelift! My jowls still sag. 12,500 wasted. :(

Paigea I have read your same posts repeatedly. I understand your disappointment, but you would be more effective if you started your own thread and put up before and after pics. It could save someone from your experience. Thanks!

Most mornings I wake up and forgot I had this done. No more obsession and feeling like a stranger in my own body. Yes, it takes this long, worth it yes, still some numbness and days when my face swells a bit, but awhhhhh to feel myself again.

Thanks! The place was awesome! I stayed for 2 weeks for less than $100 a day. My memories are more about the vacation then it is about the procedure. Then I got home and facelift recovery became a day by day event. All good though. Can't wait to see your results. Be patient!
