WORTH IT
I always new I would have a facelift. Early on in life I thought I would need it at 50, but as it turned out I didn't need it until I was 60. I had upper and lower eyes, mid lift. lower lift and neck. I am extremely pleased with the outcome so far. 5 weeks postop and I still have swelling and a lot of numbness. But the jowls are gone. The pain around my ears is tolerable although annoying. I would do it again in a minute!

Dr. Barrera is a wonderful surgeon that came highly recommended. He was very thorough in preop medical tests. He answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable. In his care you spend 3 nights in hospital and are well attended by the nursing staff. He came to my hotel 7 days later to remove the stitches. He even gave me his cell phone number in case I had any concerns. A wonderful Doctor and a really nice guy!

Hi. I would like to find a doctor here, in Mexico city. Your results seem pretty good!!! Congrats! I will follow you. Wich was the cost of it? Could you share some scar's photos?
January 12, 2016
Hi Marysol. The cost was $6600.00 US. This included all pre-op tests, surgery, and 3 nights in hospital. Dr. Barrera is in San Miguel de Allende which is quite close to you. I will post some other pics later when I get home from work. The only scarring I have left now is on my upper eye lids. All others where in my hair and behind my ears. I am very pleased with my results. I look "cleaned up" not done up. Dr. Barrera is a very caring Dr. and was available at all times. He even gave me his private cell phone number in case I had concerns. The healing has gone so well. No infections or any other issues. His web site is "Face Lift Me up". You can take a look at his other before and after pics. All the best to you Marysol. It is a journey I would highly recommend.

I need to add a correction. The hospital was in Celaya but I reposed in San Miguel de Allende. Dr. Barrera''s driver picked us up at the airport in Leon, drove us to Celaya then drove us to San Miguel. We came from Canada so had a lovely 2 week vacation in the fabulous San Miguel.

Also in my after pic I am not wearing any makeup.

Facelift day and repose time in San Miguel de Allende

jacquieh
I am posting pics day of surgery and the week and a half following. I did not seem to have the bruising and swelling that some of the other Ladies have had, but that may be because I did not have any fat transfers done. Just a SMAS facelift, neck and eyes.

I'm very interested In Dr Barrera also. I cant really see any change in your sideburn hairline but have heard that it can be about 10 CM less when done. Have you noticed any difference? You look great!
February 23, 2016
Hi marchwind. It is difficult to comment on the sideburn hairline as I didn't pay any attention to it before the surgery. For the most part I wear my hair down but on those days that I pull it up I don't notice anything odd with the sideburn area. I wish I could be of more help to you with this.
February 23, 2016
Well i'm 66 so to be perfectly honest I have much bigger issues then 10 cm on my sideburns! LOL I wear my hair down also and if you didn't notice then I would guess its not worth worrying about.
February 23, 2016
Yes. I think if you have any length at all the sideburn area would be covered if there is an issue. Honestly, I had never heard of this concern until I was on this site and the issue wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me in choosing Dr. Barrera. As you say I had a lot bigger issues to deal with. lol

Hi I'm really glad to see the barely visible scars. Some of the work other women have had done the scaring is terrible. I have really light skin & scar easily. Your posting has help a lot. Thanks Dianne
February 26, 2016
I am happy to know my post has helped Dianne. As we all have very different skin we all scar, bruise and swell differently. So I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I have also see some of the scars on other peoples faces and they look so awful. Not sure why the incisions were done the way they were. Sloppy work or not enough experience is my guess. All the best on your adventure. Keep me posted on your adventure!
