All done!
I've had the procedure! It was an odd feeling! Drinking loads of water! I took my measurements no pics! Fingers crossed this works!

So...having read so many reviews on RS I have finally decided to contribute. My overall journey is a long one! I decided last year to work on me...to start to love my self and to not just feel great but look great!
I considered VaserLipo and went for a consultation. The surgeon was great however, I just couldn't get my head round being sedated and not being awake for the procedure. As I would be doing the surgery without the knowledge of the family and some friends, I started to panic. Even though the surgeon was one of the top in the UK and I was 100% confident in his skills I just couldn't bring myself to not being in control during the surgery. A point which he himself highlighted and explained to me.
One of the things I noticed however, was in a brief moment when I thought I would have the surgery my eating habits changed. I started to eat absolute rubbish and in the back of my head consoled myself by saying "it will all be sucked out so don't worry". Once I made up my mind that I wasn't going to go ahead with VaserLipo, I decided to get myself a personal trainer (PT). I used the PT for 3 months. It was great especially as the program was based more around weight training as oppose to cardio. I really enjoyed it and not only did I lose fat and gained muscle, my shape changed which was nice.
In January 2017, I joined a MyFitnessPal exercise weight loss challenge and lost roughly 2.5 inches from my waist. I play netball and I had been doing Insanity Max 30 daily but as with most people, my stomach and flanks have always been a problem area.
I had given up on the idea of having external help when I learnt about fat freezing. I was complimenting a colleague on her legs and she said she had 'got them' via fat freezing. I've decided to have fat freezing initially on my stomach and then I will see how it works for me and then decide if I will proceed to other areas (i.e. flanks, outer and inner thighs).
I've done a lot of research and I can see that CoolSculpting is the FDA approved method and other places use different machines but market more as "fat freezing" or "cryolipolysis". The main thing is that it is non-invasive and safe with minimal/manageable side effects. Quite a few celebs have used the process including Khloe Kardashian.
I've looked at a lot of before and after pictures to see that the treatment does work but not for everyone. Or people have a higher expectation of the results that they obtained. There also seems to be little information on post-treatment aftercare to get optimal results. So far, from my research I have concluded that these are the common post-treatment aftercare recommendations (in no particular order):
1. Healthy diet
2. Exercise (not clear if its best for it to be cardio or strength training)
3. Massage the area for minimum 2 minutes (no clear direction of if a specific lymphatic drainage massage is required or just a general 'rub' in the area)
4. Some form of painkiller to help with any pain (most recommend paracetamol, some ibuprofen however, in some of the aftercare they do not recommend taking anti-inflammatory meds such as ibuprofen as this can interfere with the inflammatory process required to get rid of the dead fat cells)
5. Use of arnica (cream or tablet) to reduce the bruising (this is my logical recommendation based on the advice given for VaserLipo and other invasive treatments where a lot of bruising is expected)
6. Stay hydrated - drink lots of water (some have recommended lemon and water which is good to detox)
I've also found in some reviews there have been warnings about putting on weight during the recovery period which has been recorded as being up to 6 months (all depends on an individuals lymphatic drainage system) can prevent the 'true' results from being seen.
So, I am booked in at the Carnaby Laser Clinic and Academy for fat freezing in a couple of weeks on my stomach. I will be having 4 areas on my stomach done - upper stomach, lower stomach and the sides. I had my consultation today and it was very pleasant. The clinic is clean and professional. The technicians are all very friendly and seem well experienced in this technique. In terms of cost, well this is where things get interesting. Oh before I go on to that, I should say that I chose this clinic because this is where my colleague had her successful procedures done and so I thought it would be best to go with where someone I know has had successes as there is a lot of variation in success. I guess this is based on the equipment used. Carnaby clinic use a CoaxMed machine (further details on their website).
So, the cost...well they have a Groupon voucher deal at the moment and so instead of paying £1260 (as stated) I ended up paying £245 (£160 for 3 areas (I received a further 15% discount via Groupon, £85 for 1 area). The fact that this is much cheaper than expected has not lead me to believe that the treatment will be any less effective. I hope I'm not proven wrong. Wouldn't it be great if with all that discount I end up with the stomach of my dreams?!?! Let's see.
I'm starting back on my healthy eating and exercise (which I will now just see as my new lifestyle as oppose to a 'diet' or phase) on the 1st of May. Exercise wise, I will start by doing only cardio. The day before the treatment, I will take my measurements (inches, weight and pictures). I will take the plunge and post all the details. I plan on taking my measurements at day 0 and day 7 then, week 4,6,8,12. This could change however, I'm hoping to see some positive results.
I'm rather excited! Even if fat freezing isn't the best technique compared to the likes of liposuction, VaserLipo etc. all the before and after pictures can't all be doctored? And even if one isn't using the FDA procedure - CoolSculpting, the technology is the same and that would not have been approved by a regulatory body if there wasn't good evidence to support it's success.
Sorry for a such a long post, I just wanted to be really thorough on this journey and write a review that will be useful for others.
It is exciting and I believe I will be happy with the outcome.

Carnaby Clinic
The initial consultation - filled out a ~ 4 page form, discussion with the technician on my suitability for the fat freezing procedure. She was very pleasant and had done the treatment herself 2 weeks before.
