Cheek Implants

(I will update when the swelling goes down in a few weeks!)
I went to Dr. Eppley for cheek implants and a lower facelift after I was botched in South Korea. I went to just get a sliding genioplasty but they ended up performing a zygomatic reduction operation as well as shaving off some of my jawbone. This created sagging, flat cheeks and jowls. I was severely depressed and missed my cheekbones as they were one of my favorite parts of myself before my surgery in South Korea.
It's too soon to tell the results as I still have a lot of swelling and bruising (though, I can already tell my cheekbones are much better! I literally cried from happiness when I first saw them) but I can say that Dr. Eppley has been nothing but kind and professional through this whole process. He actually listened to me and what I wanted unlike my prior experience. Even now when I have questions via e-mail, he responds promptly with a helpful reply. I intend to get one more surgery to correct all the problems that happened in South Korea and Dr. Eppley is the only surgeon I trust.

Hi, I had the same thing happen to me in Korea and I've been really depressed. They reduced my cheekbones and now my eyes and cheeks have sagged. They also ruined the connective tissue of my skin and now if feels awful and without any form. I am really interested to hear our progress. I have seen a reconstructive surgeon in Australia but I'm not convinced to go with him for the procedure. I'm really looking for a good and natural result. Really happy for you! Gives me some hope. Can you please keep me updated on your progress and may I please find out the fees you have paid to get this fixed?

Hi, I am so sorry it happened to you too! It is one of the biggest regrets of my life. I became severely depressed, lost friends, dropped out of nursing school, almost lost my fiance but luckily he was amazing and supported my through the depression that happened after the surgery. I can't believe they would do things without our permission but Dr. Eppley actually had a really explanation as to why.
I can't tell you how happy I am. I think I will need one more surgery to fix everything that was done but I feel so much more like me again! It was like $15,000 plus airfare, hotel, etc.. but honestly was 100% worth it. I plan on going to Dr. Eppley for my next surgery too.
I really hope everything works out for you too!! Just make sure to do a lot of research and go to somebody reputable. I researched so much and decided on Dr. Eppley because he had a lot of experience and was one of the few surgeons who actually had experience fixing botches that occurred in South Korea.

Same here. I have been clinically depressed as a result of what the surgeon did to me. He not only removed my cheeks (the remnants of which are uneven) which also resulted in my eyes sagging down on their reduced sockets but also injected copious amounts of fat into my lower jaw. What I'm most devastated about if what happened to my skin. I took great pride in taking care of it and now it's loose flabby and without any firmness. It's like all the fibrous supporting structure of the skin has been destroyed. While I can fix the cheeks, my skin quality is now that of a 50 year old. As of last week, I resigned from my job as I was no longer coping, I withdrew from all my friends and now hardly leave the house. Taking a photo of myself cases me great distress. I just wish I could turn he clock and never set foot in that butchers office. I too lave done a great deal of research with regards to the surgeon and I found Dr eppley to be highly skilled in repairing the cheeks. I am hoping that this will perhaps resolve some of the sagging. I have made a request for a consultation but have not had it yet. Need to somehow try and get out of my funk and try and raise some money for the operation. Could I please ask that you share the photos of your result. Would be ever so grateful. You can always send it to me privately if you don't which to share it publicly. Really happy for you that you have had a good result. Gives me a glimmer of hope.

Where did you go in Korea that they botched you? Ive been thinking of going to them as well but want to know who is doing bad work so I can avoid them! Thanks!

Don't go anywhere in South Korea. You run a big risk of getting botched. I am only now finding out that Korea has very strong libel and slander laws which prevents botched patients writing negative reviews. I have written a negative review and posted online and now the sly surgeon is wanting to sue me and even though what I have written may be based on face, they can still prosecute you. On top of the stress of that botched surgery, I can also potentially be forking out more to that unethical surgeon. I'm hoping this doesn't happen and I'm strongly considering legal action in terms of suing him for Medical malpractice. Long story short, there are no negative reviews for these surgeons so it's hard to know who's good, moreover, if they botch you then there is virtually nothing you can do. Better spend a little extra and do it in the US. At least there you can get a credible surgeon and you can verify their work by their reviews. You also won't run the risk of a surgeon going roge doing procedures you never wanted and never constented. If I could turn the clock, I would have never gotten any surgery. I really wish I hadn't. I would have been much better off and happier if I had used that money towards a holiday.
