5 1/2 weeks PO, doing well!
WORTH IT
I'm 5 1/2 weeks post op now. I'm swelling on and off but it doesn't bother me as much as it did w/ the TT... it's just not as bad. The swelling has gone down in the hips and thighs. All Steri strips and the surgical glue are now gone. The scar was so thoughtfully done, very low, thin, and straight! I appreciate this so much. I am using my healing serum day and night and messaging the scar lightly, the scar tends to get angry if too much pressure is put on it right now. By this time w/ my TT, I was spitting stitches.. not the case with this surgery, so far so good!! Hope everyone is healing well!!

Can you tell me how bad the pain was? Did you have a hospital stay? I'm interested in areas and outer thigh lift. I will be traveling from out of state so wondering how long I would need to stay? How long were you off work? Did the lift flatten your bottom a lot? Thanks!!!! Also approx price?

The pain w/ the TT was more intense then the pain with the posterior lift. With the tummy tuck, they do muscle tightening and that is what causes the pain, the incision pain is pretty minimal. I did not stay in the hospital with either procedure. I think I may have had to stay over a night if I had done a complete body lift all at once. If you are coming from out of state, you would have to talk to the PS and ask how long they'd want you to stay, it probably varies w/ the procedure and with the PS. When I was interviewing out of state PS's, most of them told me that they would want me to stay 2 weeks for the complete body lift procedure.. 1 week minimum. For work, again, since this was two surgeries, for the TT, I was off for 3 weeks (I had a physical job) for the body lift, 2 weeks.. but your PS will have guidelines for you depending on your procedure.. this is just my experience. I did have to take it easy for 6 weeks for both procedures. As far as this procedure flattening my behind more.. from behind me straight on, it looks really good for being so early on. I didn't have enough fat of my own to transfer so this surgery was to take off extra skin, so, I do have a little bit more of a flat appearance from the side profile.. I'm really thinking this will change as swelling over the incision decreases, this is kind of distorting things right now. When I hit three months, things will be more defined. As far as price, I don't remember exactly for both of them.. you can go to Dr. Turkles web site and she has prices poster per procedure.. I am really really happy with the way things are going with this procedure, my Dr. told me what to expect and things are better then I imagined.

Wow, that is far away. Are you coming to the USA to get surgery or looking in the UK? Carmel is in the State of Indiana in the Midwest portion of the USA.

WEEK 3 POST OP
I hit the 3 wk mark yesterday. Healing is going well!! I am swelling a lot right over the incision line mainly in the middle of my lower back, I'm also having some swelling around the hips and a little on the thighs. I'm not really bothered by it mainly because it's way less swelling then I had with the TT. Another real self friend suggested using an ice pack on the swelling and it helps! I'm wearing my compression garment 24 hours a day, and because it's not a tight one, I really like it. I'm trying to be very careful going from a sitting, or laying position into a standing position, it's still uncomfortable. My incision is covered in Steri Strips and they are beginning to fall off and I am beginning to use the "Skin print Healing Serum" that my PS has recommended. I have used this same serum on all of my incisions and honestly couldn't be happier with how they have turned out. I'll post another pic of the incision tomorrow.

I wish I could have. After the TT I had lost more weight and I literally didn't have enough fat to transfer. I guess it's not a bad problem to have :-). Im headed over to your review now, thank you for writing.

Hi, thank you so much for your comment!! My PS carries "Skin Print" healing serum and she has an online store, if you go to Dr. Turkle's website, she has a link to her online store. Here is the description of the product: "Healing Serum is specially formulated for skin care professionals to accelerate wound healing (non-open wounds), reduce the appearance of new and older scars, and provide significant textural improvement in skin.
It also has been shown to provide significant anti-aging properties to skin including wrinkle improvement, tonal improvement and enhanced skin clarity."
My TT scar looks great but the real test was the arm lift scar, those kind of scars don't tend to heal as beautifully.. but I am very very happy with the way it looks and I was religious with using this serum. Hope this helps, thanks for writing!!

No more loose skin!
A little background, After my TT, I had lost almost 40 pounds. My tummy is still tight but the weight loss made my skin saggy from my hips all the way around the back of me. It kind of felt like I was wearing half a spare tire around the back of me. I went into surgery at 9 and came out of it feeling pretty good. I did need pain meds for about 3 days, and from then on, pain was manageable with out meds. I'm about 16 day's post op today! So far, this surgery has been way easier PO then I thought it would be. I am swelling above the incision line mostly in the middle area, and at the hips but I am surprised by how little I am swelling at this point. With the TT, I was swelling so much that I could not fit into my pre op clothing for about 3 months (but everyone is different). I did have drains with this procedure but did not have drains with the TT. Both of the drains were gone by 2 wks PO. The hardest part as of now is getting up from a sitting or laying down position, it is a little painful but mostly, "in my head" I'm scared of pulling on the stitches so early on. I went into this surgery with expectations that were right on target and feel great about my results so far, and I know it’s going to keep getting better.

Hi, thank you!! I use "Skinprint" Healing Serum, that my PS carries. It's a little over 29 dollars a bottle and it works beautifully. I had a biopsy/ and chemo cream on an area of my nose diagnosed with skin cancer, and used this serum on my nose after treatment.. and the nose looks great now also!!
