44 Yr Old Saggy Girl About to Get Mini-facelift with Fat Injections

It's actually been 5 1/2 months since my mini face lift with fat injections and I feel great and look great. The only bummer is how I have visible scar lines around where my earlobes attach, but people can't tell if I use my hair to cover them. I've also noticed a little loose skin where my turkey neck used to be, but it's just barely noticeable- probably only noticeable to me.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with my results. My jowls are gone. My cheeks are more defined and my nasolabiel fold lines have softened (thanks to injections). I still have rough/dry skin near my temples from healing and I can still feel some stitches that haven't totally dissolved. For the most part, feeling has returned to my face and I have no trouble wearing makeup, although I'm still too afraid to wear earrings just yet.
I go back for my 6 month checkup on Jan 5.

Thanks for keeping us updated. This may be something I do when I turn 55 in 8 years.

Its now been 2 months since my lower facelift (minilift) and there's no more swelling anywhere. My right eye has returned to normal (now it's pretty much even with my left eye). Some stitches have snapped during the healing process, but Dr. Winslow said that was normal. I still haven't regained feeling in a portion of my face, but it doesn't bother me. At least, I can finally sleep on my side again!!
The only thing I'm a little bummed about is that my nasolabiel fold lines and the lines that run down from the corners of my mouth have returned, although they still look better than they did before the fat injections. For some reason, fillers of any kind never last long in my face. :(
Another thing that kinda disappointed me was that I know longer have a perfectly tight and defined jawline, like I did during the first couple weeks following the surgery. My skin has began to relax again as the stitches dissolve, returning some of my jowling and even a bit of my neck sag.
With all that aside, I'm still happy with the results, as long as I don't experience a 100% revert within the next 2yrs. I still look much better now than I did before, in my opinion.

Beautiful picture but I understand experiencing some of the common post facelift dissapointments. At 2 months you still have some swelling (though it doesn't seem like it) so expect your face to lose some more fullness by the time you hit 5 months. I'm telling you this because when some of the letdowns happened after my facelift I was emotionally unprepared. It was very difficult for me to watch my face slowly descend to where it had been before. From the look of your photos you got a more aggressive procedure (my doctor didn't go into the hairline) plus a fat transfer so hopefully your outcome should last much longer than mine did. Just try to enjoy the fullness while you have it, but be prepared for changes as they come and know that many people struggle with frustrations (like jowls returning, nasolabial folds that shouldn't be there, and some laxity in the neck). I think Catherine did a great job and I will enjoy watching the progress!

You look beautiful and natural. I am also worried that a couple of months later my face lift results will not look as good as they are now. I am about 5 weeks post and I still have swelling under the chin.

Romansica, I have yet to see one person who had a mini lift that looks as good at 1 year as they did at 2-3 months post surgery. I'm finding out now that what happened to me isn't entirely uncommon, but unfortunately no one was posting honest feedback when I was researching my surgery. Mini lifts have real limitations when not combined with other procedures. Its best to be emotionally and financially prepared for additional surgery and/or enhancements like fat or fillers.

The swelling should continue to diminish over time. Mine did.

Mine also decreased.

If your doc allows it, use a microcirrent facial device. I’m doing it a couple times a week until I decide to get a neck and face lift. It actually works on me and no I’m not a spokesperson for any doc or company.

The swelling on my face has gone down even more since last week and I'm wearing makeup and contacts again. My right eye is still very droopy- from the swelling pressure on that nerve, I guess. I really hope it rises to stand with its buddy soon.

I think you’re coming along great! Amazing results! If ever in doubt always compare your no picture to your before! Such a dramatic difference
September 7, 2018
Yes, I'm very happy with my results compared to how I looked before. In fact, I almost got into an argument with the cashier at a liquor store, who tried to accuse me of having a fake ID because he didn't believe I was born in 1974. :)

Where did you get the fat injections? I can't tell from the photos where she put the fat
September 7, 2018
I received injections in my nasolabiel folds and my frown lines (the lines that dipped from each side of my mouth). The incision spots where I had stitches from that was at the corners of nostrils and inside my mouth, at each side of my bottom lip.

You look beautiful like in your 20s. I hope the eye issue has resolved.

You look great. You mentioned u tried ultherapy with little results, were there any results at all??? I can’t afford surgery yet and am thinking of trying.
September 7, 2018
No, I really didn't notice any results with the ultherapy, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I'd rather have a root canal than go through that pain again!
