38 Years Old. Lower Bleph/xanthelasma Removal
UPDATED FROM orange99
One month post bleph
WORTH IT$4,220
I'm very happy with the results. I have a follow up at the end of the month. The surgeon will decide then whether to remove a bit of skin or not. She said in many cases the skin snaps back into place. Will update in a month.

Had a lower blepharoplasty with transconjunctival incision and removal of xanthelasma on 12/08/16. Starting 3 days before surgery I took 1000mg vitamin C. Day before surgery I started taking arnica Montana 3x daily. Still continuing with arnica, vitamin C and ibuprofen (for swelling) a week after surgery.
I was given zofran and hydrocodone - neither of which I ever took. I was also prescribed an antibiotic and torodol post surgery, along with bacitracin opthaic, all of which I did take.
In addition to the procedures mentioned above, I did have a rejuvenize peel- which is why I'm flaky in some of the photos.
Day 1 ~ Surgery day. Looked rough but felt surprisingly great. A little sleepy, and rough looking - but virtually pain free. I was always skeptical when I read other experiences were pain free- but it really was.
Day 2 ~ I felt great. I was able to pick my son up from school- no vision issues. No nausea or tiredness. No pain. I had A LOT of swelling in one eye.
Day 3~ Again, no pain. Swelling has gone down considerably. I put on sunglasses and did some
Christmas shopping. Had some irritation in my left eye. It is the beginning of chemosis. Due to this I discontinued the bacitracin until I saw the doctor (it seemed the bacitracin started the irritation).
Day 4~ Stitches from the xanthelasma removal were taken out. Bruises already faded to yellow. I'm pleased with how fast the healing process is moving.
Day 5 ~ I saw the surgeon today. I'm healing fine. Both eyes are irritated. My right eye is normal, left eye has developed Chemosis. It doesn't hurt- just feels a bit bruised and looks gross. Have a follow up in a few days to keep an eye on the progress. Still mildly swollen and a bit yellow.
One week post surgery ~ Slightly swollen. No sign of bruising. I see the surgeon tomorrow to follow up on them Chemosis.
I'm very pleased with the surgery so far. I really wish I hadn't waited so long to get it done! I can't wait to see the final results.

Welcome! Thank you for sharing your story, and your photos. Your result looks amazing already! Did you do anything in particular to help promote your healing? Please keep the updates coming :)
Hi thanks for the story. really good to see. would be really great to know how it went in the long run. i.e. did having that much swelling on your eyes cause larger wrinkles and saggyness of the skin around the eyes later? thank you :)
No, not at all! And that was some pretty incredible swelling. I do have fine lines under my eyes, but those were there before.
You are healing so fast, that's great. Were you under local or twilight
for your procedure?
for your procedure?
I was under general for this procedure.
How are your results? Can you post a current picture? Thanks!

You look fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!
Wow, you look great! I just had CO2 under my eyes for xanth removal and I am on day 6. Hoping ridges/swelling go away!!!
How is your treatment going? I strongly recommend anyone with xanthelasmas to seek removal. I am shocked as to how much it bothered me. I knew I hated them, but I never realized how much. I catch myself breaking eye contact with people, then thinking 'I don't have to do that anymore'. It has really helped my self esteem!
