Hi all you lovely ladies! I've done it! First of all, thank you all for your wonderful reviews, through making the decision to do this and leading up to the actual day, all your advise, caring and candid sharing of your experiences have been invaluable to me! So, here is my story..
I have always been very small framed with small but nice boobies. I lead a very active lifestyle and have been surfing since I was a teenager. At 38 my husband and I realized we could not fall pregnant without some assistance and started the difficult path of fertility treatment. Well, 3 IUI's, 4 IVF's and 3 unsuccessful pregnancies later we accepted it was not going to happen for us. I wanted control of my body back and started training seriously, and got into weight lifting. Needless to say, the little boobies I had pretty much disappeared.
I started asking around for names of doctors with good reputations from the ladies in the competitive fitness industry, made a short list of the ones who's work I liked, researched them to within an inch of their lives and then ran the short short list past my two anesthetist friends. They both immediately recommended the same PS. I went for a consult, felt completely comfortable with the PS and his staff and set the date for the 23rd September. I had another follow up consult and then a pre op appointment on the 22nd. Man this guy is thorough and pedantic! Exactly the kind of doc you want operating on you right!? He measured, re- measured, triple measured, we looked at pics, a lot of pics! We agreed on what I expected and wanted. A natural looking c cup, my own boobies, just bigger :) we agreed on 300cc - 330 cc range moderate plus profile, I wanted 325-330 and he agreed to to try but because of my very small rib cage he did tell me he might not be able to fit them in and still maintain the aesthetics I wanted. We agreed that he would make the final call in theater on size and that I would rather sacrifice a little size than aesthetics and end up with a too full upper pole.
So, went to my pre- op on Monday, got what my husband called tribal markings all over my chest ( the booby tribe!) got measured for my recovery garment, aka granny bra, filled my prescription and went shopping for front opening jammies in my sisters closet. It's spring here in SA so no winter Jammie's to be found in the shops. Tuesday morning my wonderful husband took me to the private clinic in CT at 06:30! I was first on the list so an early start. The staff were all amazing and the facility is fantastic! I got prepped, my PS came to see me, helped me tie the silly gown you wear into theatre and chatted to me and just put my mind at ease. Again confirmed that we are on the same page as to outcome ( love this guy)! The anesthetist came around, asked some questions and made a few jokes, all very calm and relaxed. I got a pre med and by the time I got wheeled into theatre I was half asleep already!
Woke up with pressure on my chest and boobies!! I was feeling a bit nauseous so the nurse gave me an injection and when the pain started I got an Oxy. I dosed on and off, doc came to check up on me and said he went with the 300cc as the 325 was just a bit to wide. I'm ok with that :) hubby came to get me at 3pm. It was not the most comfortable car ride ever, and about half way home I promptly threw up...in a plastic shopping bag...not my finest moment. But, I did feel better after that . I'm now 2 days post op and in a lot of pain. The first night was easier, I was still tired from the anesthetic and though it hurt, I managed well with the pain killers. By Wednesday evening I was in a world of pain, I slept really badly last night and don't feel so great today. A little light headed and slightly nauseous and of course the ever present pain. I see my PS for my post op appointment today, I am hoping the drains will come out, I feel like I'm a mobile snack for a vampire ! Lol.
I have taken a sneak peek yesterday and I already love my new girls! When the pain gets really bad I think about all the cute bikinis And strappy dresses I will wear this summer! So, here is what advise I can give so far... I wish I had bought a fully automated recliner to sleep in, would be so much easier to get up and back in than the bed. I would send my cats to the cattery for the first few days, my Siamese babies don't understand why they can't get the usual amount of attention and cuddles. I am very happy that I made a huge pot of beef and veg soup on Sunday and froze it int portions , it's been a lifesaver and all I was able to eat up until last night, when I had some chicken stew my darling sister made for me and froze into portions. Also, I pre- keeled meals and froze them so my hubby is fed and I don't have to worry about food. Right now it's time for my pain meds! Thank goodness! Will update later ladies!

UPDATED FROM Djenno
2 days post
It's 2 in the morning....
2 am and I woke up with my chest on fire. Hmpf! The drains came out yesterday at my post op appointment and the super tight mummy bandages came off! O happy day! I immediately felt a whole lot better. I was so happy and feeling so good I got home and had a shower, then promptly tried on my bikini's and assorted clothing items. ( it's a whole new delightful world!) I also took a sleeping tablet at 9 and didn't set my alarm for my 12pm pain meds...I got this pain thing under control right...wrong! 2 am and hello! So here I am typing updates about my foolishness at two in the morning while waiting for pain meds to kick in! So apologies for any incoherent ramblings, I plead inexperienced new boobage owner! Big hugs ladies!
