well I had my first microneedling and tca peel, so I just have to wait and see the results, was not painful, i was just very red but thats expected. i will do another microneedling with prp in 3 weeks and then one more with the tca peel the week after
Infini was recomended but where I live its not available. so i went with the dermapen.

Not painful? May I ask what percentage the Trichloroacetic you used? When I do them my patients are feeling pain.

I know that in my experience, if you have done a TCA peel(s) in recent past, it is a lot less painful when you do subsequent peels. For first time patients, it can be very painful, esp when micro-needling is done prior.

Hi There, Im also based in Cape town and was considering doing the micro needling, which clinic have you done it through and would you recommend it?

Renaissance skincare clinic. They brilliant and work with the plastic surgeons. It makes your skin feel smoother and much plumper afterwards. Only downside is at my age i need to go every 3 months and it can get pretty expensive. But its so worth the results .

Dermapen with Tca Peel

well its 3 days in and ive had a bit of peeling but nothing crazy, skin felt tight which is normal, i stayed in for 2 days to avoid the sun but was out on day 3 with heavy sunblock as im olive skinned and prone to pigmenation.Well I ve had no crazy side effects or anything out of the usual just some peeling but less peeling and more flaking. My skin seems back to normal already. the pics are of my forehead only as ive not shaved so you wont get a true perspective of my cheeks as my beard has grown a bit. but at this point im feeling like i need a bit more vigour to my treatment.

Thank you for your post and your pics! What are your goals/expectations for Dermapen? What size needle did you have?

One Week After Dermapen and 30% Tca Peel

well its been 1 full week since my first treatment which was the dermapen and 30% tca peel. My skin originally had some redness after the procedure, no pain, and my skin was back to normal almost by day 3. I had very minimal peeling. which was more flakey than actual peeling.

I think my dermapen treatment next has to be more agressive as Ive healed very quickly. I will be doing PRP with the dermapen on my next treatment. so will keep you posted on that. The picks are of 1 week after treatment.

I've never heard of mixing TCA with microneedling. My Derm office acts concerned about mixing anything aggressive with microneedling for at least 10 days. Did they apply the TCA after the microneedling?

Yeah after the micro needling the peel was applied ontop 30% strength

Thats weird because 30% tca is pretty strong. 35% is already considered a medium peel. I recently applied 30% tca on a small part of my lip (by myself at home, but only after reading a ton about techniques from websites for doctors, like about 'feathering', cleaning before for even penetration, definitions of level one frosting 2 and three...and also i had started with 15% and leaving it on for a tad and gradually moving up)...any way, 30% for two minutes was very very intense, pretty respectable depth of skin came off. And i just watched a video where a woman had 25% done to her and it scarred her. Maybe you had a different acid? Now im googling the 'tca cross'. It looks and sounds very efficient for large pores or icepick scars.

**clarification: i applied above my upper lip. For some confusing reason the area between the lip and the nose is considered the lip too.
