Would Strongly Advise Any (Esp. Young Women) Against Almond Eye Surgery
$8,000
I came to Dr. Taban's office in October 2020 requesting an almond eye surgery in hopes that my eyes would be more uplifted. He was very curt but said that he could fit me in the time span I was in Los Angeles. At the time, I had suffered a lot of recent trauma and was under emotional distress. I definitely suffer from facial dysmorphia which I must say, you will not realize you have if you are suffering from it dear reader!!! So please ask and LISTEN to the advice of your friends, family, and TRUSTED dermatologist (NOT a plastic surgeon, this is routine for them). I had very large, sort of downward tilted eyes that were still considered quite beautiful from the people around me but all I saw was scleral show and a very slight downward tilt. I mistakenly thought that this surgery would just make them wider and more uptitled. It DOES give you wider and untitled eyes but at a HUGE price. My eyes are 1/3 their original size two years after surgery. They went from being much larger than the average population's to perhaps average to small. They have lost almost all of their beauty. Your eyes are the focal point well into the aging process and they will stay with you while your face begins to sag. If you have large eyes with scleral show, LEAVE THEM ALONE. Trust me. Large eyes are a huge part of femininity and attraction. If you are blessed with them, I am telling you that this surgery will make them MUCH smaller and less beautiful. No amount of up tilt or a mm of width can make up for that. Your round eyes are gorgeous and you will regret having this surgery. It IS NOT reversible. On the website, Dr. Taban claims that the procedure is reversible but he refused to reverse the procedure on me and I am convinced from other plastic surgeons that the original state of your eyes cannot be restored which is why he refused to reverse them. I am never dramatic, but I am telling you that a lower lid retraction and lateral canthoplasty is a procedure from which there is no return. If you do not love yourself, please consider taking the advice of your friends and family and leaving your eyes be. If you are going for this procedure, especially with Dr. Taban, please message me for photo evidence and you can decide for yourself. You do not now what you are really asking for.
