Starting a new review
The format will not allow me to indicate which of the two doctors I chose,, so I will be starting a new review as well.

I have a hospital bed, toilet seat riser, walker, mini-fridge, extra microwave and shower chair at home because of my medical history; however, I will be traveling for my procedures. I requested a handicap room located away from sources of noise and these rooms typically have grab bars beside the toilet and in the shower which will be handy as well as a higher toilet. And I contacted a hospital bed retail company in Cancun, in the event I need a bed at the hotel. Also, just in case I forgot something, I will provide a supplemental list next week,

Looks like you have prepared very well! All the very best on your procedure.
I found it helpful to use arnica tablets, arnica cream and bromelain.
The Lioton (notice the spelling) is those on steroids and has clinical trials of its safety, as well as oversight of quality in the production process while arnica and bromelain do not. I had this Lioton following orthopedic surgeries to apply on extensive swelling and bruises but not on incisions. I have also used NSAID creams in the past and like them but they came from the compounding pharmacy and are very expensive. However, I think Voltaren is available by prescription at the pharmacy packaged. But dietary supplements are largely unregulated as are many topical preparations. (They are prohibited from making claims they treat a medical condition but otherwise it is the Wild Wild West.) The percentage of active ingredient and purity are too frequently problematic on assay; so I am afraid to use these products at a time that I may be experiencing side effects which can be confused with the side effects of prescribed medications. Basically, I want a little more certainty when recovering from surgery. However, there are a few industry certifications and the USP or NSF on the label normally gives me a some confidence in the products, but not post-surgery. The bromelain in fresh pineapple is more consistent but many people who suddenly add multiple servings of this food experience gastrointestinal side effects. Ladies who do not typically eat it probably should try eating it daily as a test before surgery to be certain of the way it affects them. Diarrhea or constipation can result. Because medications due to surgery frequently cause constipation and the sudden increase in pineapple consumption can cause the same problem, there is a bigger problem. If the pineapple test produces diarrhea instead, that would be good to know. I do not feel comfortable that post-surgery is the time to use products that do not have numerous peer reviewed scientific studies supporting their safety or effectiveness. I guess I am a bit risk averse; I am surprised that I would choose elective procedures.

face photos and leg defect
I also have a defect in my leg which I was hesitate to mention because the posts here are typically addressing aging issues or dissatisfaction with a naturally occurring feature.

Definitely keep us in the loop on your leg, we are growing our site to have more topics like that. Based on your picture description it sounds like you are having the area where you've had orthopedic surgery smoothed out?
Yes, this is the result of repeated orthopedic surgeries and steroid injections. I have seen plastic surgeons produce excellent results on faces damaged by steroids with fat transfer, Sculptra, Juvederm, and Artifill; however, the volume required for this defect makes anything except fat cost prohibitive. The upper portion of the defect occurred following the third steroid injection into the hip joint which create a golf ball divot. The middle and lower portions are the result of four incisions in the area which created the remainder of the defect. The dermal scars from the incisions healed beautifully developing into thin, flat lines. I have read that repeating surgery in the same location increases the risk of this outcome and in addition to the fat necrosis there was other soft tissue and bone death. In addition, lower on my leg I have a tendon rupture caused by steroid injection leaving another divot but it is much smaller and easily covered by clothing. I will write a separate review in the scar revision section after my treatments.
Thank you.
