Female 50 - Mexico READ UPDATE READ UPDATE!!! DO NOT USE OCEAN DENTAL - RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

After having to travel to Cancun a seond time 9 months after first visit for 3 root canals and 3 crowns and missing my own family holiday. I have had nothing but pain and issues with the "new" crowns. Ocean dental had major problems trying to make crowns to fit. I spent hours and hours being tortured by them and treated horribly by Dr. Galvaldon. I overhead her say that the inital crowns were ok and so what if the color was off - they are in the back of her mouth and noboday will see them anyway. Those initial crowns were HUGE and bulky - make me feel like gagging all the time as they touched my checks and tongue in an odd way. Second trip - getting those off and new ones made was complete torture, spending over 9 hours at a time in the dental chair. They left me with sharp stumps that shredded my mouth for days. Fast forward one of the 3 crowns fell off exposing a blackened stump and lots of pain. the other crowns throb nonstop and have shooting pains. I conatacted Ocean and they offered me $60 to get it reglued here! I complained that they are responsbile and need to pay to hae this corrected. They countered with $100 and said they aren't responbile for the high prices dentists charge in the US. RUN AWAY FROM OCEAN DENTAL!!!!! You will be sick and have pain and will have teeth that fail. I talked to another person who had a complete mouth of veneers done at Ocean. I met him while I was there the seond time. When my crown came off I contacted him to see how his dental work for Ocean was doing and he said EVERY single veneer failed! Chipped and then came off. he has has to pay to have every single tooth redone in the US!!! DO NOT USE OCEAN DENTAL YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! HORRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, BARBARIC!

All 3 crowns were done incorrectly and were off in bite, size, shape and color. The root canals were done properly - thank God!. I suffered for months after the treatments and had to pay my dentist to adjust the bite so I didn't have constant major pain daily (9 months) and the crowns were so bulky they rubbed on my tongue and cheek making me feel nauseous all the time. Then, one of the offending crowns came off! I had to fly back to Cancun for the crowns to be redone (guaranteed work). I planned the trip with enough time to ensure they fit well and were perfect. It was a complete nightmare having the crowns removed and I was left with sharp (like razor blades) areas of the crown/glue that sliced my tongue so bad that I couldn't eat, talk to drink anything without major pain - my glands became swollen and I felt ill (for a full WEEK). The new set of crowns they made were awful and Dr. Irma spend hours TRYING to make them fit. Dr. Irma broke one of my teeth forcefully pushing the ill fitting crown on over and over, but did not talk about it and repaired the tooth. Dr. Irma kept typing to make these crowns fit onto my shaved down teeth - they did not fit. Dr. Irma then said to me; "PERHAPS YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO CANNOT BE SATISFIED!" She also keep saying (not directly to me) that the one crown was "perfecto" and it shouldn't be taken out. I could not believe how rude and unprofessional this woman had become. It was NOT my fault her lab screwed up once again. I was so uncomfortable and angry. Not one word about my swollen tongue or an apology. She then said all the crowns would need to made again to make me happy (yeah, sure… it is because they did not FIT… I would have had 6 days left to make sure crowns were good but was now left with ZERO days for adjustment as the clinic was closed my last day there. I ended up with a young dentist, Dr. Sanchez who is AMAZING!! It took over FIVE hours to adjust the crowns so they would fit and the crowns are so much better in color, fit, size! I still don't understand why it would take so long to adjust crowns because molds are taken. In the US the crowns fit almost perfectly upon initial fitting with small adjustments made to the bite. During this five hour crown fitting Dr. Irma was in and out as she had to take all Dr. Sanchez's patients and she did not address me AT ALL - not a hello, nothing - passive aggressiveness that was uncalled for and so completely unprofessional. I did question the color to Dr. Sanchez as i wanted the crowns to be right this time and I heard Dr. Irma say they were close enough and nobody would see them anyway as they were way in the back….. What the hell!! I was told she said she would not work on me because I was too picky! This is completely false and unbelievable to me. I was there because the work performed on my teeth was poor… wrong and then I get treated like it was all MY fault!! I was happy I ended up with Dr. Sanchez who is very careful and a perfectionist and not hostile Dr. Irma! We are a single income family and there was NO way we could afford to almost $8,000 for 3 root canals/crowns. My root canals at Ocean Dental were $250 each, free X-rays, consult, $300 for core build up and $450 for porcelain fused to zirconium crowns. (they cut me a deal on the crowns due to a miscommunication.) I cannot express how good I feel about choosing Ocean Dental! The information and communication prior to my visit was above and beyond was I expected. They answered every question and anticipated my every need. Ocean Dental is my clinic and I am planning on having an implant done there too.
