I went to Cancun Mexico last week for some cosmetic work done on my teeth. I went to Cancun cosmetic dentistry about 20 minutes from the hotel zone in Cancun. I went to the dentist Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. About 15-20 hours of work. My procedure costed 5000 American dollars. I am from Canada so it equaled out to about 7500 Canadian.
Monday- I came into the dentistry by complimentary taxi and received a very warm welcoming. My first impression of the dentistry was very good. Very clean, nice and cool inside. It wasn't long before I got brought into the rooms in the back where I was introduced to the man that actually made me decide on this practice. Dr.german Arzate. If you look him up on YouTube you will see why i was so confident in my decision. He sat down and asked me about my concerns regarding my teeth and any issues or pain I have. My teeth were not horrible in the front it missed coloured, my teeth in the back on the other hand were a complete mess. When him and I spoke on the phone prior to my arrival the plan (not set in stone cause he hadn't actually seen my teeth in person yet) was to remove most of my back teeth and replace them with implants. But with my budget on the lower end we decided to instead focus on my teeth in the front and come back at a later date to do the implants. He wanted to start the work the same day but it was in no condition after my flight to start right away. He understood and gave me a time to come back Tuesday. (They took some X-rays and videos for teaching purposes)
Tuesday- I come in Tuesday at 930 a.m. Expecting to see dr. German. Instead I meet 2 other dentists who take impressions and then get to work on filling down my front teeth to little baby teeth. After that was done about 2 hours later they wanted to do my extractions in the back which I was not looking forward to in the slightest. (The dentist who did this was my ultimate favourite and probably the only reason I would go back to this dentistry) Jesus was very compassionate, always making sure that I was comfortable and aware of what was going on. I am not the easiest patient I'm sure, I would consider myself quite a baby actually, but yet he was very patient and considerate of my feelings/ minor breakdowns. 4 hours later, I was ready to get out of there. They made me a set of acrylic teeth to go on top of my shaved down teeth, glued them on and I was good to go and try to enjoy some sun while the crowns were made.
Thursday- today I was again seen by Jesus. He did my final extractions from the bottom on my mouth then stitched me up.
Saturday- today is the day I got my crowns placed. Two female dentists who were very very sweet and comforting were by my side making sure everything felt good, my bite was proper and they looked natural. THIS was a VERY painful process. I don't know if everyone having crowns placed experienced this but I DEFINITELY felt the pain. The numbness and sensitivity on my front teeth was unbearable, the numbing they put in seemed to do nothing at all and i was very vocal about that. To say the least, it was not a pleasant experience. But through my bitching and crying, the two woman and Jesus were very understanding and so patient with me. Which was really nice and made me feel very safe and cared for. After the crowns were finally placed they then whitened and cleaned my frontal lower teeth.
Overall I have to say that this dentistry was the best I've been to. It is of equal standard to any dentist in Canada if not better. The only thing I have to say to future patients is don't expect to see much of dr. German. He swings by to say hi every so often but he did none of my work. But you can trust the other dentists. They were all so amazing and I highly recommend all of them. They made me feel calm and did amazing work.
