I have had bad teeth my whole life.
I had been doing research online about dental treatment for some time now. I eventually contacted around 10-15 clinics in Mexico, Costa Rica, Turkey, Some didn't respond, some responded, Some sent automated responses, only a few sent valid information. Finally it came down to 3 dental clinics two in Cancun and another in Turkey. I ended up going with Cancun Dental with Dr. Gavaldon.
Mixed emotions in everything. I have had extensive dental treatments with them over the last year. We own a time share at the Royal Sands I've been traveling to Cancun every year for the last 10 years. I started with the clinic on November 2014 at thier old facility. We were walking down to Kukulcan mall and stepped in for information. Came in later that week and started with 7 Root Canals all done in one day. All Root Canals are succesful so far and were done by another specilaist in the clinic Dr Gilberto Galvez, great bedside manner and perfect English. I was placed in temporaries for a couple days. These temporaries were a nightmare they hurt my gums and came off before my appointment. Later that week I came for the implants. Had 5 implants in different areas of my mouth, including sinus lift and bone grafting. This went well no mayor problems during or after surgury. I later had another set "longer lasting temporaries" They were a lot better than the first set but felt bulky and interfered with my speech at first. The real downside was that these temporaries cracked before I was able to come back. I was quoted 800 dolars here in Texas to get new ones made. Thankfully the clinic had some on thier 3d system and shipped another set. Still had to pay 200 dolars for cementing these.
On my second visit on August 2015, Unfortuantly one of the 5 implants failed, they were able to place new temporaries on all the good teeth and the implants that worked. The implant that failed was redone under guarantee at no charge because of failure and another implant was place to elimate making a bridge at a discounted price. The treatment I recieved was very complex,even tho there was complications here and there I believe Dr. Gavaldon, Dr. Gilberto, Dr Lugo try to do outstanding work. After this visit a new set of temporaries was made these were a lot better than the first set. I eventually came back a couple weeks ago to Cancun for my last visit.
To my surprise I needed another treatment upon this trip Crown lenghtening! Another $1000 Worth of work. I eventually got my permanent crowns for my full mouth. I choose to get zirconium crowns for more strenght and durability. The over all out come I give it a 9/10. The price was about a third of what I was quoted here in Houston. The clinic had state of the art technology that i had not seen before. I spent over 50 hours in the clinic to complete my treatment. After all the hastle and long hours in the chair I do think the treatment was worth it. Hopefully this is help to someone.
