Day eight

On day seven went and had MAC help to cover some bruising with heavy concealer ....wow what a treat.

Day eight...no makeup...I look like Shrek but no pain just not so pretty. The bruising is going down daily. Time and patience is all that is needed. Still issues of swelling to work in daily. REST is my friend.

Vitamins and Medicine pre and post planning

In preparation for surgery I lost 30lbs perhaps also cntributed to the neck wrinkle that hung.
I take vitamins seriously daily and was instructed by doctor to take omega 3-6-9 daily, and a good multivitamin.

I started taking arnica pills two weeks before surgery as I know I am a bruiser. Past lip injection left me with black bruising.

I did not have any injections or fillers for 1 year and went into this totally natural to see what I would need at the end.

I also took extra vitamin C to combat cold season. Avoided flu shot this year.

Stopped taking Advil one month before procedure to clean my system.

At time of procedure I was provided prescriptions for which I filled the day before surgery and laid out a plan for taking meds daily so no groggy confusion.
Painkiller - 3 times a day. Tried for a day or two and then I switched to one Tylenol 3 and one Tylenol 1 with codeine which just worked for me. I liked the extra sleep. I brought those from Canada as I was unsure about medication options in Mexico. What they provided would have done the job.
Anti inflammatory take 3 times a day
Antibiotic Eye drops 3 times a day for infections
Arnica tablets three times a day
Arnica cream - applied at direction of doctor afternoon stitches were removed and cheeks were exposed with no stitches...at this time.
OMEGA 3-6-9
Multivitamin
Laxative teas or whatever's you need have on hand

Diet- plan some soft meals. Chewing can be a little sour at first....smoothies, soups, pick items you enjoy as you do not eat lots after surgery.

Plan to lose a few pounds...I am down 4 more pounds just resting....love that!

Pillows- there was always lots of talk about pillows after surgery. I just stacked my pillows and used some soft throw pillows and had a neck travel pillow. This all worked for me. I sleep with my head elevated while healing and have adjusted well to sleep cycles. I rest a lot still.

I make a point of enjoying the process of healing and just focusing on relaxing.

Pain management and concerns - I wine at getting a blood test. This whole procedure would have been enough to freak me out. Blood, stitches, bruising...all overwhelming. However, the pain I was expecting was so much worse than what I have. I have a few moments of small minor discomfort around the ears, still swollen around ears and cheeks, and eyes. I had a lip twitch for a couple of hours the other day. The anxiety I have now is only about when the next batch of stitches come out...even that is minor in the big scheme of things.

I know this is not for everyone. I never thought I would do this. I am happy and I want to share my experience with this community as it is all about people in search on information to make their journey a little bit more informed through the process.
