10 months post op

I am quite happy with the result however I would still like a smaller tip. I did have some damage and scar tissue from a previous op so I think the subtle result means my surgeon was cautious - a very good thing in my eyes.

Day 10

My nose is still very swollen, and very sore. I have finished up all meds now - hurray! But still using saline regularly. My nose is taped, however I removed it last night to give my face a good clean and to have a sneaky look. It’s swollen and gross - but I can see an improvement already. I know there is a lot of swelling so I can’t judge it too harshly just yet.
I’m surprising calm and relaxed about it, I think personally the build up to surgery is much more stressful than recovery. Particularly as I haven’t had any serious complications.
I am missing exercise, however enjoying the peace. I’m enjoying not going anywhere, although I am looking forward to a nice brunch somewhere in the sun!
The skin on my nose under the tape was very oily and dirty, it was hard to try and clean it gently when really it needs a good scrub and a mask. However it’s so sore I wouldn’t dream of doing that. I used warm water and diluted tea tree oil on cotton tips. And put more tape on. I feel this is more as a reminder to me and others to keep away from my nose!
The pain over the past few days has been higher, I think because the swelling has flared up. I’m possibly moving too much around the house, and may have accidentally bent over too many times. Please please don’t bend over at all! I do think this has contributed to the swelling significantly.
Friends are surprised I’m still hurting, the pain is bearable but also noticeable. I am reluctant to take pain medication (even panadol) unless I really need it so I’m sure if I was having panadol around the clock it wouldn’t be noticable.

Worse before it gets better

Day 8, and I can safely say it looks worse now than when the cast first came off, which is what I’ve read everywhere. Swelling is very lop sided, and I am quite sore.
Cast is off but my nose is taped, so can’t really see the shape in photos. Will post when I take the tape off in in 5 days.
