My procedure is tomorrow! which is exciting!
Iv wanted this for so long but didn't think I would have the courage to do it.
After reading plenty of reviews and discussing it with a few people who have already had the procedure who are really happy with their results, I felt like, if they can do it, I can! Hell YEAH!
I am getting the dorsal hump of my nose shaved down a tad (the doc said 3ml) and having the tip slightly elevated.
I don't want a whole new nose, just to tidy it up a bit as I feel it looks masculine and elongated. I want it to look more feminine and suited to my face :) I am SO excited to see the results and hope to god it looks good HAHA!

Waking up after surgery

When I woke up in the recovery room i just felt a bit out if it, the roof of my mouth and teeth felt funny. But that went away after a few hours. Other then that, no pain, soon as I was fully awake in my room, I had all the energy in the world! Probably from excitement haha! The only pain was a slight very dull head ache and I felt the tiniest bit sick. I can't believe how easy it was! All Drs and nurses where lovely which made it good. I was admitted at 1pm ish, had surgery around 3, woke up around 4:15, it all happened pretty quick, that's what you want ????

Congratulations! Which Mark Moore? There's 2!! which hospital? APSA? My surgeon was from APSA. You had the EXACT same cast and tape as me - good luck with it! I got such a bad reaction to the tape :( but all good now. Closed surgery is the best!!!

Thanks Hun, it's mark Moore at Calvary hospital north Adelaide. He's a plastic and crainial facial surgeon. He was pretty good. Iv still got no bruising yet which is awesome! When did ur bruising start showing? I'm scared of having a bad reaction to as iv got sensitive skin. How's ur skin going now?

October 9, 2014
Yes I know of him. Wow, I bruised and hadn't even left the hospital yet!! My bruising has now gone this week! I've got sensitive skin too - be careful. Look at my pics - they left a horrendous mark on my face :( it's only clearing up now with prescription hydrocortisone cream and using manuka honey on it overnight. How long do you have to keep the cast on for?

Day 2 - day after procedure

So I was discharged from hospital at around 9:30 this morning. Got my drugs and went home. Cast is coming off next Wednesday. I only slept 4 hours due to feeling uncomfortable in hospital and having obs checks throughout the night. Thankfully I had a room on my own! I'm still leaking at the moment slightly. And still in pretty much no pain. Just tired from no sleep. Iv filled disposable gloves with water and chucked them in the freezer for today. Dr Moore said that the bump on my nose was pretty broad so he broke it and narrowed it. He also said he has lifted the tip a little, which I can sorta see. Iv just been taking heaps of selfies lol and trying to compare them to old photos to see if I can see a difference! I think it is, it's so hard to tell. I am loving this relaxation time as I have a very active little toddler haha, I'm lucky daddy is being so helpful so I can chill ????

My nose looks so similar to yours and I'm due for closed rhinoplasty in a few weeks can't wait to see your pics when the cast comes off, well done!

Well I'm really nervous about it as I was due to have it done months ago but cancelled it as I was so scared of the operation, I'm still anxious especially about not being able to breathe after the op and of course the anaesthetic too but it's been over twenty years I've not been happy with my nose so I have to have courage! I'm having the bump taken down a bit and some of the cartilage on the bump taken out to take down the bulky tip and hopefully give a more feminine profile, how are you feeling today
October 10, 2014
Hi there, I am actually feeling great! Iv even been to the beach today haha!
This has been incredibly easy, try not to be too nervous. All they do with the anaesthetic is put a IV needle thing in your arm and a gas mask and your gone, next thing your awake and its all done!
I had breast augmentation done about 3 years ago and this experience with my nose has been an absolute breeze in comparison!
Honestly if your lucky you wont be in any pain at all, its mainly just the feeling of discomfort which can be a little annoying, but easily manageable. Its just like having a stuffy nose when you have a cold, but you have a big cast on your face lol.

Oh thank you so much for your positive comments, I'm so pleased that your recovery is going so well, I'm only going to read positive stories to keep me focused, sending all my good wishes your way.

It sounds like your healing is going well and that you have a helpful man by your side. Thanks so much for sharing your experience so far! I'll be checking back for your big reveal (and try to keep in mind that you will be quite swollen for a while after the cast comes off).

Congrats on your surgery. Just get as much rest as you can. I started getting my black eyes around day 3. I used arnica cream and found it amazing. Also lots of ice helps.
