22 Year Old Experience with New Picosure Laser Technology - California

I'm a 22 year old college student that has currently discovered about the new tattoo laser technology, picosure. You all are probably wondering if my parents are paying for my laser removal, but they're not (and shouldn't), they actually have no idea I am even removing my tattoo, I plan to surprise them once it's completely removed. I'm paying for this on my own and luckily the place where I get my tattoo lasered at offers monthly payment plans so I am very grateful for that they are actually trying to help me remove my tattoo. I got my first and only tattoo when I was 18 years old and I got it colored in about a year ago. Now my tattoo the biggest regret of my life and I will do whatever it takes to get this garbage off of me (funny how your mind changes so quickly, huh?). I started my first laser session with picosure as of May 1, 2015 right after I took my Chemistry midterm. I have a peacock on my ribs that had a lot of intricate colors to it. The laser process for me is absolutely painful but worth every penny. I've done a lot of research with laser technology and some of them fail to mention that after the process you get these terrible blisters that can last up to a week! You seriously feel like you have the plague with how big the blisters can get! DO NOT TOUCH OR SCRATCH YOUR BLISTERS! With my experience using vaseline or aquaphor is your best bet, take a q-tip when applying the vaseline to your blisters. I have also been told by my doctors that taking vitamin C/E, which I take every day. I also poke a hole in the vitamin E pill to apply onto my skin. I work out to try to stay healthy and many of the doctors say that the reason my tattoo is coming off so well is because I'm so young and healthy. Avoiding the sun at ALL costs helps with the process as well, and luckily for me I'm able to cover it up easily. Tattoo removal really depends on your skin type, who did your tattoo (whether it was done professionally or not), the ink, the size, location of the tattoo and more. I'm very fortunate that I have people that are trying their best to help me. I'm also very fortunate that my fair skin is the perfect candidate for laser removal. The laser removal place I go to calls me their "little model" because my results have been amazing. The process of getting a tattoo removed is difficult and sometimes you feel like you just want to take an eraser and erase it all off so it can just be gone, but in reality you can't erase such a permanent mistake. At the same time I feel very lucky and I feel as though I am in a better position than most people because I only have one tattoo that I need to get rid of. (it doesn't help that it's a rather large one though). This entire process has definitely challenged me with my patience and will continue to do so until its completely removed. I have been told that it may only take 6 sessions to be completely removed, I'm going into my fourth session as of October 9, 2015 but I think I will mostly likely need more than 6 sessions for it to be completely removed due to the coloring (yes I recommend going every 7-8 weeks as scheduled) I see my tattoo removal process as lesson learned to never to anything stupid like this again and the tattoo laser removal place is giving me my punishment for being an idiot every time my tattoo gets lasered off. Getting a tattoo is serious business, please think before you decide to ruin your natural beautiful skin. I had to learn the hard and painful way.
