Three months post op

I haven't posted in awhile because I'm pretty dull. I've had a couple of spitting stitches. (One is still resolving on righty). They're settling in. I'm posting because I got measured at VS at about 4-6 weeks out when I started walking again and they put me at 34D. I got measured this weekend at Nordstrom because lefty was getting a line across her in the bras I had. I'm a 32ddd or 34dd. Much better. They don't look that big because I have broad shoulders. They're just right for me. Just what I asked for. :) they're not twins because of the difference in my rib cage -- righty is still less tissue at the top, but they are so much better.

I bought a couple of natiri underwrites and they're great. :)

The ab incision is slowly slowly getting better. Swelling is a little better too. I still wear Spanx but I should try not and see what happens. The numbness is fading and I sometimes get itching and pokes as its regenerating. I can run just about what I was doing pre-op. Still using silicon strips on the ab but not on the boobs--just the gel.

That's about it.

Six week post op appt

I had my six week post op appt yesterday and all is well. I was officially released from all restrictions. Woo hoo! He said to keep using the silicon strips until the incisions longer have any color--could be 4 months or so. He said my breasts still have some dropping to do and to massage the right one a little in a down and outward direction because it's a little inward as of a couple of days ago. He trimmed the ends of the sutures that had been poking out of me...not a big deal, and I'm glad they're gone. I'm clear to wear an underwire bra, but the last time I tried one on, it was pretty uncomfortable, so I'm in no rush. He said to wear a bra as much as possible...nothing new there. That's about it.
The past week or so have been tough physically. Probably a combination of PMS, too much salt, and too much work. I had a very bad couple of nights of swelling--like looking like I was four months pregnant, so I'm back to watching my salt intake very carefully and wearing Spanx when I walk. It hasn't been that bad again. I also noticed that I was getting lightheaded each time I stood up in the afternoon. I'm also bone tired later in the day--like fall asleep tired. I've been anemic in the past, so I started taking iron supplements again.
The good stuff: that sharp pulling I had in my abdominal incision is gone so that I don't have to watch how I move anymore. I jogged this morning--about 2.5 miles--really slowly--but it felt so good. I've missed running a ton. Also, it seems my husband isn't afraid he'll break me anymore, and I'm happy to help prove it. :)
Anyway, I'm not sure whether anyone is reading this, but for those of you who are just starting out, it does get better. It's so slow at first it's hard to see the improvement and not feel frustrated. But you'll get there, and it will be worth it. I look down and I can't believe these beauties are mine and they're not disappearing. The extra skin I had on my stomach is gone. I used to think it was fat, and it wasn't. Craziness. :)

five weeks today

It seems like five weeks have passed in no time in some ways and a million years in others. I generally feel pretty good. My breasts hardly bother me at all and they feel great, but it's my stomach that keeps nagging. I've overdone it recently, which makes my ab incision not feel good. I jogged a little and carried more groceries than I should have on Sunday, so now I feel more of that sharp pain in my incision that was decreasing at the end of last week. I'm having to be really careful not to get up wrong again. I am more swollen, too. I'm sure PMS doesn't help. :)

Oh, one question I have is my incision still has a fair amount of a dark bluish line in it, and it seems to be where it's more painful. I assume that's where the sutures are closer to the surface?? Anyone notice something similar?

Well, here are some pictures. I don't know how you all get such nice photos. I come out looking more crooked and funny looking than I do in real life--at least I don't think I look at goofy! Maybe I'm delusional.
