I decided on 400cc saline gel implants. I had the procedure done two days ago. My surgeon is very conservative and had initially recommended 275 to 350ccs. But after seeing his two nurses show me their augmentations I decided to go with either 375 to 400. The nurse with the 375ccs had my build and they looked super nice. I told my surgeon my preference was 400cc and he said he would see if that was safe during my surgery. My surgeon is wonderful. He checked on me twice already at home and he let me know that on my left breast he put in a 410cc and that it fit beautifully (that breast was bigger than my right one) but he had to put in a 350cc in my right breast because when he put in the 410cc in the right he couldn't close it. He told me to give that breast 3 months to stretch and that he could then put in a 410 cc at no additional cost to me and that it could probably be done in his practice rather than at the hospital. Has anyone had this happen to them before?

Sounds like you got a good docter; that's great that hes going to even the one breast out to match the other in size at no charge to you:

Thank you for sharing your story on RealSelf! Did your PS say how long it would take for the skin to stretch? I would prefer doing this instead of having complications down the road from too large of an implant. How has the first week of recovery been? Happy healing and keep us posted!

Hi Beth, he didnt say but he gave me the okay on excercising and doing chest flys to stretch the skin a little faster. That really worked. I go in on Friday and want to see if he thinks 500cc will fit in both. Especially since my right one is at a 350 right now. My first week of recovery was really good. I went back to work and was just fine. I go in for the new implants at the end of this month. I am torn between (depending on what fits) 500 or at most 550's. I have gotten so used to the way they look now that they seem not big to me anymore. And when I measure they come at a full B and depending on the website a small C. I would hate to go 500 and still feel that they are not big. I don't want to be huge but a full C or even D would be nice! We will see what the Dr says on Friday!

Oh this is exciting that you're getting larger in both sides. I agree with you that you can handle a bit more. Isn't it funny how you get used to the larger size fairly quickly? Will your PS charge you for just the new implants?

Hi BethH, I am excited! Scared too but very excited. I got used to the new size easily and they don't seem BIG to me. I had wanted to be a C cup but I am a B. Which for me having surgery and paying so much seems too small! Although when I look in a mirror they seem to be a nice size but when I look straight down at myself they seem small. I guess thats because a lot of the fullness is on the bottom. I go in in a couple of hours for my pre op and hopefully my wonderful Dr. can guess what size I will be able to get. I am torn though. I think I want to go 550cc but that seems huge. I remember being torn between 375cc and 410cc and boy am I glad I didnt go 375cc or smaller. But 550 does seem large. I dont even know if my right breast could go that big since its at a 350cc right now and that would be another 200cc to add in there! But my breasts have dropped significantly. My family doctors nurse was showing me her breasts (funny how now its almost as if everyone I encounter has had them done and we show them off!) and she has 550cc but she is smaller than me and she is a small D or full C. She had her surgery 3 months ago so before me, and her breasts are still super high and tight. When I showed her mine she asked me how in the world had I gotten them to drop so much and I told her how much I have been working out! It really has made a difference. I want to do the revision sooner rather than later so I don't chicken out. I am thinking at least a 500cc if it fits. What do you think? My left breast has a 410cc and it doesnt seem too big...opinions please!

Isn't it great that in the cosmetic industry, people are willing to show their breasts! Personally, I would tell my PS my goal, but not to over extend my breast pocket to the point of possible complications in the future. If only the 500 works, stick with that and don't push it. How did the pre op go?

It went well! We are sticking with 510cc. I couldn't bring myself to say 550cc since he is doing both free of charge! Plus when he walked in smiling and said, "so 450cc's" !!! and I only was able to say noooo a little bigger! But he did say that 510cc is what he recommends. They are comping both implants which I didn't expect! But my Dr. prefers for me to be asleep since he is going to have to work at making the 510 fit into my smaller side and doesnt want me awake for that. So now all I am paying is the anesthesia which is less than what the implants would have cost me! And I get to be asleep! We were just going to have me awake (local) so that I wouldn't incur the charge of anesthesia at the hospital but now I will be at the hospital and out cold. So I am happy about that. I was dreading the being awake part. I am pretty nervous generally so I am glad that he picked up on that. He was SO nice and asked me if the reason we werent doing anesthesia (general) was because of cost and when I said yes he then asked his nurse to try and get one implant comped and she got both! I cannot tell you what amazing people they are. I love my Dr and his staff. I go in two Tuesday's from now so hopefully the implant will fit on that one tricky side :)

So your revision date is 7/30? That's great you can be asleep during the revision. I would prefer that too! Keep us posted!!

Funny it's been a few years and now I feel I went too big. A lot of clothes don't seem to look as nice or even fit over my chest. I am a 34dd according to the fitting I got at Victoria's Secret but after hearing from others that they weren't measured accurately there I think I might be larger. So now I am thinking of going smaller but probably won't at least for a while because of cost. Yuck. Wish I had stayed with the first size.

Going in for revision in a month!

Okay so I have been not wearing a bra and doing a lot of arm excercises to stretch out my "new" breasts so that there will be room for the bigger implant. Now that I have had time to get used to them I want bigger implants in both. My wonderful surgeon has agreed and I will go in at the end of July for both breasts. I am now debating size again! I am 5 6 and 135 lbs. I feel that although a 410cc implant is a nice improvement over what I had, it still isn't that big for my body frame. I will post a before picture and will try and snap one now with my current implants. I am thinking of going 550cc IF they fit. I am measuring at a full B or small C depending on who measures me! But I don't think I look like a B. In any case they are so pretty compared to what I had!
