Underwent two rounds of subcision: first procedure...

Underwent two rounds of subcision: first procedure in February, second in April. I think the smaller scars are virtually unnoticeable but I'm not quite sure about a significant improvement in the large clustering of the larger boxcar (?) scars on my cheek. Friends/family indicate a 30-60% improvement but the jury is still out (although I acknowledge that I focus on them much more heavily than outsiders).
I tried my best to capture a variety of different angles and lighting (as you know these factors weigh heavily on how good you're feeling about your skin on any given day).
I'm due for another consultation with the same dermatologic surgeon (whom I trust based on his initial conservative approach) next week--I want to explore additional rounds of subcision, perhaps combined with a temporary filler (e.g. Restalyne, Juvederm). Petrified of lasers, so that is out of the question for now. Does anyone with similar scarring have any advice/feedback? Has anyone had any positive results with different/similar modalities?

I'm having subcision done with Dr. Morganroth in a couple of days. How would you say you feel about your overall improvement? For instance, do you feel that you feel less self conscious or the scars bother you less? I also plan to have to treatments by him by the end of the year.

He is extremely skilled at what he does, the procedure is very low risk and was a conservative choice for an initial procedure. However, I think the key is having multiple treatments and combining them with other modalities. It's almost as if the subcision was successful in lifting the whole depressed area in general, but I'm not sure about the efficacy of subcision for textural issues. Hope this helps!

Realized I didn't answer your question entirely--to be quite honest I'm not the best person to give a completely object assessment of my results. I'm extremely preoccupied with my skin and literally feel like I'm in a nightmare (I know this is dramatic especially in the context of other skin issues which are much more severe than mine). So to be candid with you as of now, no, my confidence is still shot and I plan to keep going and trying new procedures out (but no laser ever).

I agree, I don't want to try laser either. From your pictures, it appears that I have quite a few more scars than you do, but Dr. Morganroth thought all of mine are rolling and would respond well to subcision. He said to expect about 25% improvement with each round, and that he typically doesn't do more than 3 rounds, but I opted for only 2 since they were so expensive. I'll write a post after my subcisions, but I really do understand how you feel about your scars. I'm not in much of a financial position to pay thousands of dollars on cosmetic surgery, but they bother me so much and make me so annoyed with the mirror that I'm willing to do whatever to see any improvement. I wish you the best of luck. Continue to update :)

I had one-time CO2 five yrs ago and fraxel twice this year then Bellafil. They helped clean my skin of other imperfections like blemishes and even out my skin tone but i still have all the scars, and I mean all types of scars. I'm considering microneedling

I've also heard good things about micro needling, maybe it's best for those really shallow, surface level scars (which I believe I had). Perhaps the subcision and filler are for deeper ones?

BTW, how long was your downtime after the subcisions (how long did the bruising last)?
November 21, 2015
Since it was such a small area, I had very minimal bruising. The kicker for me was not being able to wear makeup for a full week after
treatment, but in terms of pain/swelling/bruising/etc. it was maybe only the day of the procedure that was a little uncomfortable.

Did you have the needle marks after the procedure? If so, how long until those healed?
November 22, 2015
I saw no needle marks whatsoever. The only (temporary) change in pigment came from the bruising which subsided very quickly.

Restalyne silk (Dr. Morganroth)

Decided last minute to get one syringe of filler to see what it would do to my scars. Overall, I feel as if the area has lifted significantly (more dramatically so than after subcision). I do think that in some way it accentuates the textural problems which I think at this point are my biggest hurdles (very shallow, uneven, etc). One of the pictures below makes the scars look absolutely crazy--I don't think they look like this in normal lighting. Kind of unsure about next steps as I tend to overexamine and obsess over my skin to the point where I can't even tell if there's genuine improvement or my mind is playing tricks on me (I'm sure some of you can relate).

Hello(: do you not recommend getting the filler? I was wondering if it would make my skin look lumpy
