How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.
If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

I have been doing a lot of research on foreign...
I have been doing a lot of research on foreign doctors. I have my mind set on Dr. Villalobos in Cali, Colombia. I have followed him on Instagram and I am impressed with his work. I did my research and he is board certified which was important to me. I have 2 yound children to return to. I'm not willing to take a chance just to save money!!
I sent my pictures to Dr. V on a Saturday and received my quote on Monday. He suggested the three procedures...2 of which I wanted to begin with. The price was exactly what I expected after reading reviews from others. $6,500 plus additional for an optional pain pump, medications, and recovery house. Price includes insurance for 30 days post sx as well as 10 lymphatic massages. They suggested I stay for 21 days. I will be traveling with someone who has family there. I likely will stay in the recovery home for the first 5-7 days.
I had a bad experience during child birth with my second child with my epidural. It really scared me. I was concerned about ever having another one. After receiving my quote, I replied expressing my concern about this. I received a reply the same day informing me of my options. Their response time has been quicker than expected and very professional.
I am hoping to lose about 30 pounds before sx. I intend to keep updating this post with progress pics before and after sx. I am going in November of 2014 so if anybody is going during that time, I am open to sharing a recovery room to share the costs!

Recovery Houses
I am a year away from my trip but I am searching through my recovery house options to see what will work best for me. I messaged two separate houses - aesthetic care services (Alba Diaz), and VIp Recovery (Lina). They both offered their WhatsApp numbers so I could message them my questions and concerns.
My concerns that I addressed with both were:
I am a vegetarian and wondered if my diet could be accommodated?
How often the bathrooms were cleaned?
Are the employees bilingual or is there a interpreter there? I know we have google translate available but would prefer someone there to understand me.
Price obviously plays a role as well but not nearly as big of a role as the other concerns I had.
Is wifi available?
Does the stay include transportation?
Both ladies answered my questions in a timely and respectful manner.
Alba Diaz with Aesthetic Care Services (messages aesthetic care services on Facebook)
She said that they would accommodate my diet and the services included were:
airport transportation
3 meals a day
24 hour nurse care
appointment transportation
She assured me that the bathroom is cleaned daily but will also be cleaned extra as necessary.
Hyperbaric chamber (I believe is extra money)
They have 4 room options which all include AC, Tv, closet, safe, and US calls.
Shared rooms with a bathroom outside of the bedroom are $40 per night.
Shared rooms with a bathroom inside of the bedroom are $50 per night.
Private rooms with a bathroom in the bedroom are $70 per night.
Small apartment (2-3 people) - I am assuming this is for surgery buddies that travel together. It includes all services as other rooms for $60 per night PER person.
Lina with VIp Recovery House (recoveryhousevip@gmail.com)-
She informed me that they have bilingual staff and would accommodate my diet. The bathroom is cleaned 3x per day. They offer currency exchange, have security cameras. All rooms have a TV with cable, wifi, have AC, and a safe. They also allow guests to stay with the patient for an additional price.
Three room options -
Diamond- has a large orthopedic bed and a private bathroom with hot water. Patient is $95/day guest is $35/day.
Gold- has a large orthopedic bed and a shared bathroom with hot water. (I assume the bathroom is between 2 bedrooms but you have your own private bedroom after looking at pictures) patient is $85/day guest is $35/day.
Platinum- shared room with 2 orthopedic beds. You share the bathroom. Patient is $75/day guest is $35/day.
Services included-
Airport transportation
Appointment transportation
3 meals a day made by a chef
Laundry service
24 hour nurse care
Tourist day (I assume this is to take you shopping for necessities)
Emergency services
She also emailed me photos of the entire house. It looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! Has marble floors, gated exterior with security cameras. They also have a spa onsite (extra $ obviously) that offers massages, a hairdresser, girdle service, and a hyperbaric chamber.
Hard decision to make now but I got all of my questions answered to make an educated decision on what place works better for ME. Everybody has different needs so it is important to make your own decision and don't focus on everyone else reviews - unless they have ALL bad reviews ;) Both of these houses have mostly good reviews. I have attached pictures of both Facebook pages if you would like to message them or look at reviews/pictures.
