Updated Pics

See updated pics, spent a good time icing for first two days, pretty steady with the 20 on 20 off technique. Days 3-5 just iced when I was at home. Swelling has started to go down by day 4. No sweating so far, for those of you thinking that this will eliminate sweating completely don't have that in mind. Most of the research I found was this will reduce heavy sweating in normal every day activity, but it will not stop it completely. The practice should discuss this with you to ensure you have a realistic goal coming out of the procedure. Mine was to eliminate the heavy sweating during the workday/weekend evenings so I wouldn't have to worry about lifting my arms up, keeping a backup shirt at work for meetings, or wearing a jacket indoors to hide sweat stains blaming it on I was cold. This is a goal we discussed and agreed it would be achievable, hot weather, exercise, etc you will still be sweating. From what I have read about the procedure, after the first treatment by the 3 month mark you are typically back to about 40% of the sweat level previous and the next procedure will end you at about 10% of the sweat level, but again everyones body is different so again each person will have slightly different results but in general it reduces sweating, I'll keep it posted on when/if I have sweat return and the %ish.

Read a bunch about the miradry procedure and...

Read a bunch about the miradry procedure and decided that it was the way I wanted to go. I read up about different places to go since being from Alaska it is not offered up there. After reading the reviews I decided on going to calgary alberta to derm.ca. I had the procedure done by Ildiko Juhasz there. I discussed the procedure ahead of time on the phone and she answered all my questions. Prep is easy just shave your underarms.
The procedure itself: It takes about 2-1/2 hours, most of that time is spent using anesthetic to your underarm. I discussed with Ildiko that normally it takes longer for anesthetic to hit me so we made sure there was enough anesthetic and it was working before starting the actual miradry machine. Also to note I read online about people having a nerve hit and having a loss of sensation in their arm. Ildiko was well aware of this risk and ensures that the miradry does not go towards that area on the lower arm and she injected some saline solution in that area to puff up the arm to create a buffer to the nerves. Once I was good and frozen then the miradry process went on. I was slightly concerned after reading peoples reviews that said there were areas when they felt a red hot burning/pulling sensation, Ildiko did a top notch job ensuring I was frozen everywhere and I never felt a thing at all. The entire time we chatted away making the procedure go by quite quickly, the only thing I felt at all was the vacuum suction of the machine but not once did i have any pain, note we also did the highest level 5 right away. Don't get scammed into doing a lower level, that will just cause you to have to do more than 2 sessions, Ildiko does 5 right away part of my decision process for choosing here. I went home and began the icing process immediately, this is critical to how quickly you will heal. Be careful with the icing, make sure the water bottles are wrapped in a dish towel as you will be frozen from anesthetic and can get frostbite if you are not careful. I followed a 20 min on - 20 min off schedule for the first 12 hours until bed. I did not have a whole lot of swelling the first day. When I woke up on day two my arms had swollen up a bit but I proceeded to follow my icing schedule and just hanging out binge watching netflixs. I didn't take any tylenol or advil as I never had any pain afterwards. It was just a weird feeling having your armpits swollen up, there was minor bruising but nothing bad at all. I'm on day 4 here now and the swelling is already going down. I haven't had any sweating yet underarm which is good because I used to be able to soak a undershirt when watching TV. I'll put some photos up here on the morning of each day. I'll do my best to try and put a 1 month, 3 month follow up before the second treatment and i'll put stuff up after the second one too. Feel free to ask questions too and i'll do my best to answer if I can.

Ildiko Juhasz was top notch. We discussed the entire procedure ahead of time and she answered every question I had. She took extra precautionary steps to ensure I did not feel any pain or hit a nerve during the procedure. The entire time we chatted away as she is very friendly and easy to get along with, this made the procedure fly by. I would highly recommend having the procedure done by her as everything went super smoothly.
