40yr. Old Mom Tummy Tuck (Previously Had Breast Augmentation) - Calgary, AB

I am a year out from my tummy tuck and I am so happy with the results of my surgery. I had previously had a breast augmentation by Dr. Whidden years ago and was on the fence about the tummy tuck for over 6 years. The thing holding me back was that I didn't have any stretch marks or much loose skin, it was the bulging of my abdomen that bothered me, so I had to weigh the scar against how much my tummy sticking out bothered me. I finally decided to do it when I realized that despite me working very hard on keeping my body in shape, I still wouldn't wear fitted shirts or dresses because of how much my tummy stuck out in them. I also hated seeing my profile in the mirror when I wasn't sucking in as I looked like I was pregnant.
Choosing Dr. Whidden was a no-brainer since I was thrilled with my previous breast surgery and knew he was well known for his belly buttons and low tummy scars. I finally pulled the trigger and I am so happy that I did. He repaired my stretched out muscle from pregnancy and ended up taking about 8 inches of skin off (which I didn't even think was possible) and my waist came in by 4 inches so all my low-rise pants fit better. My belly button looks even better than before and my tummy is now flat. I won't lie, it was not an easy recovery ~ in fact, much more difficult than my breast augmentation, but I'd do it all over again. At my 1 year follow up, they showed me my before photo transposed over my 3 month post-op pics. You could really see how much my abdomen used to stick out. I am posting that pic, along with a picture I took back in March when I was training hard for my spring break vacation. The scar is so low I was able to wear all my bikinis and low-rise jeans. If you're on the fence... trust me, it is so worth it!
