24 Hours Later....

So here it is....one full day since my review yesterday and I am feeling 99% better. Last night was brutal. At 8:30 pm (almost 6 after my procedure...) I could no longer take it. I had to get out in the cold winter weather and drive to Shopper's Drug Mart in search of the strongest painkiller sold OTC. I spoke to the pharmacist and could barely get the words out. Tears were streaming down my face and I managed to tell him about my sensitivity/intense pain. He was an ANGEL for me....he came out from behind the counter and grabbed a bottle of clove oil found in the essential oil section of the store. He put drops of it into a coffee mug with water and said "This is old school, but it will work! Rinse it in your mouth for as long as you can, then spit it back into the cup, and repeat again and again." I did, and felt IMMEDIATE results!!!!!!!!!!!! I could have HUGGED this man, he was so amazing!!! I went home, repeated the same steps, took some extra-strength Liqui-Gel Advil, and two Gravol. Just before falling asleep, I soaked a cotton ball with clove oil and placed it directly on my throbbing teeth. Afterwards, I rinsed my mouth with warm water and fell asleep. I did not wake up until 14 hours later. My pain was mostly gone! I was incredibly touched that the dental clinic called to see how I was, and even this afternoon - my dentist called from a conference in Vancouver to ask me directly how I was feeling because he was so concerned! Incredible staff!!!!!
Long story short - the pain is ungodly. If you can survive through 24 hours, you will love your results. You do need to make a promise to yourself to buy clove oil BEFORE your procedure and have it on hand when you are at home and are in pain. Don't brush off this tip and say, "yeah, yeah....how bad can the pain be?!?" Believe me, if there is a slight sensitivity in any of your teeth BEFORE Zoom!, you will feel pain afterwards. Clove oil will help you through this!!!

Just had ZOOM! whitening procedure at my dentist...

Just had ZOOM! whitening procedure at my dentist office. I have been home for one hour, and I am still sitting here with my winter coat on and a towel to my face to prevent me from breathing in any air. I am in complete agony - the zingers are so unreal. I have an extremely high tolerance for pain, something that I am quite proud of. I made it through all 4 fifteen minute sessions, and I felt my first zinger during the last minute of my 2nd round. I am stubborn, so I sat through the zingers in the 3rd session. Then I sat through even worse zingers in the 4th round. So yes, it is my own damn fault that I am hurting as much as I am right now. I probably should have stopped the process after the 3rd round, but all I could think about was having beautiful white teeth. I couldn't talk afterwards, and had to sit and cry in the dentist chair for a long time. The staff at the dental clinic were AMAZING and one girl drove my vehicle home for me, and another girl came to pick her up. I couldn't say a word to any of them, I just sat there in the passenger seat with a towel to my face, and cried. I do have to say - that the woman who performed my whitening is an angel, and was so compassionate and caring. She explained every step of the procedure and was so reassuring and constantly asking me how I was doing. After I was dropped off at my house, she gave me a big hug, which was so nice because I have no family here, and recently left my husband. I was feeling so alone and miserable. Big 5-star rating to EVERYONE at Signal Hill Dental. So here I am, one hour later - and yes, still getting zingers every single minute. And yes, they are just as intense as the first one. The pain is so bad that I haven't even been able to LOOK at my new white teeth. I can't even believe I am typing on my computer at this moment, but I am on my computer trying to look up ways to alleviate the pain I am experiencing. If I had the chance to take back the last few hours of my life, I would definitely NOT go through with this procedure. Not a chance. However, I will write an update in a few days and the pain has subsided (hopefully) - then I will have had a chance to look at my teeth, and I will give you my honest opinion. But...like I said, at this point....the answer is hell no. I am hating life right now, and no pain meds can touch this pain.
By the way - I have written a review on here last year when I had my breast augmentation, and I can tell you RIGHT NOW that the pain from breast surgery is NOTHING compared to this. This is far, far worse.
