Facial Scar from Having a Birthmark Removed As a Baby - Calgary, AB

I had a 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch scar along my right eye from having a birthmark removed as a child. The scar had stretched as my face grew over the years resulting in darkened skin with raised scar tissue that was visible without make up on. I had consulted with Dr.Zakhary and she gave me the option of treating it with a laser to lessen the darkened pigment or to have a scar revision done. I decided to go with the laser treatment and it did yield great results, my scar lightened up and was less visible with out makeup. However, I realized what actually bothered me was the indent and so I went back and requested to have a scar revision surgery instead of more laser treatments. I had the surgery performed on my scar a couple months later and I couldn't be happier with the results. I do have a tiny section of raised scar tissue proximal to my eye and the scar is reddened >6 months post surgery as it's still healing, applying scar gel has helped flatten the raised scar tissue and reduce the redness. She gave me back my confidence and I am not as insecure about my scar as I was prior to seeing her. She also has an amazing bedside manner and seems to really care about her patients. I'll definitely go back to her in the future as she has shown she does excellent work :)
