Really pleased with my Septarhinoplasty results!!
Day of surgery: I wasn't to eat anything after 12:00 the night before. I was scheduled in for 2:00pm the next day for surgery. At this point, I have never been so nervous in my life. I went it and lights out, don't remember a thing! I was under general anesthetic. The surgery took ~3hrs, woke up and was super super groggy, I felt terrible! I wanted to throw up so terribly. I would highly recommend you have 2 people with you helping you leave the surgical facility, I could barely walk. Once I got out to the vehicle, I finally was able to throw up since I had been feeling so nauseous. I looked down at the ground and there was about 2 cups of blood on the ground! I guess this is normal because you must swallow blood during surgery. Dr. Zakhary had prescribed my Tylonel 3's, the pain wasn't super terrible but the swelling was and I seemed to feel a lot better once I took my pain meds. About 4 days into my recovery I developed a throat infection. The ER doctor stated that it was from being intubated and this can happen if the throat is scratched from the breathing tube. I was in complete agony at this time. Imagine not being able to breathe out of your nose and then your throat is on fire! By day 7 my infection was gone and I was on my way to Calgary to get my cast off! I was so excited to see my results! Dr. Zakhary wasn't there but one of her girls working for her took everything off and the stitches also came out, felt so good to get all of it off my face. After that she took pictures and she taped me up again, I was told I would have this tape on for another week. A lot of swelling is completely normal! And the sinus rinses help you breath immensely- I was doing these about 6x a day (I started rinses 3 days post op). I went through a little bit of depression also, they do warn you about this. As being cooped up in the house for 2 weeks as I didn't want any public siting's. I took about 6 weeks off of work, they recommend you take about 2 weeks- by then the bruising is mostly gone and you are considered socially acceptable. My own opinion, I am very glad I had as much time off as I did. There is no way I could have went back to work after 2 weeks, your nose gets very swollen and sore if you are standing or sitting for long period of time. It felt the best when I was laying down or on a 45 degree angle. I am back to work now and feeling great! Despite the rank healing period I had, I would do it over for sure. I am so so happy with my results. I wished I would have better prepared myself, but you don't really know what to expect- and everyone is different the way you heal!
My nose has been something that has bothered me...

Dr. Zakhary was very warm and welcoming as I was super nervous about meeting her for the first time for the consultation. I have never had someone make me feel so comfortable while talking about my nose! A person isn't too sure what to expect, but Dr. Zakhary is amazing and I would choose her again and again. Her girls she has working for her are just awesome too! Very nice staff! Dr. Zakhary was with me the whole way, the surgery day was very nerve wrecking for me and she reassured me not to worry and everything would go fantastic. And it did! Love the results and even though the healing process is a little bit uncomfortable I would do it again in a heartbeat.
