I have wanted larger boobs for as long as I can...

I have wanted larger boobs for as long as I can remember! Many of my family members have had a BA to increase fullness after children but I have always known that I have wanted to get my BA before children. I know this can be a controversial decision, but I just think, why wait? I'd rather have the body of my dreams now instead of waiting until my already small boobs to get destroyed when I decide to have a baby. I wish I had taken a before photo to post on here but I didn't and now I'm totally regretting it. I'll try to dig through some old photos to find something that can give you ladies an idea of what I was starting with! I started with a 36B. I actually really liked my pre-BA boobs in many ways! I have naturally quite perky breasts and small nipples/areoles. Other than the size being small, they were actually pretty good! My stats are as follows: 5"6 170 lbs 36B 24 year old - no kids My main motivation for getting the surgery is to balance out my body. I have a naturally very curvy figure (smaller waist, wide hips, and a pretty big booty). I've always hated being so pear shaped as I really love the look of an hourglass figure. I decided to make my boobie dreams very clear to my surgeon. I told him I didn't want anything too big, but I was also afraid of the ever prevalent boob greed! That's is something I didn't want at all. We decided on 405cc of cohesive gel, moderate plus profile, crease incision, textured, round Natrelle implants. I was afraid that this wouldn't end up being big enough but my surgeon assured me that this is the biggest size he felt comfortable going for long term results. That's something that really drew me to him initially. He's all about long term results and not just instant gratification. He explained that many women want really big breasts, and while they look good initially, after 5 years they start to really settle and can look matronly. That is NOT what I'm going for! I appreciated his honesty. After all, he doesn't have anything to lose by suggesting that I go smaller. He's been practising for a lot longer than most surgeons in my city so I feel confident that he has seen the full life of implants and knows best. I will write a review of my experience in the next post and get you ladies caught up on my journey so far.

I did a lot of research on Calgary doctors before deciding to attend a consultation with Dr. Hamilton. His consultations are free of charge (this isn't why I picked him, but I thought I would note this) but he does book very far out. I called in December 2015 but he didn't have an opening until January 15th and that was because he had a cancellation. The consultation was great. Dr. Hamilton explained all of the different types of implants, pros and cons, and how the procedures work. He also took time to measure my breasts and conclude the style and size of implant that would be ideal. He never made me feel rushed or pressured. He gave me all of the pricing and some websites to take a look at before making the final decision. I went home and looked at everything he provided and I felt very comfortable going ahead with the surgery. I called his office the same day and booked my procedure for May 5th! He had dates in February and March also, but due to me finishing university, May was the perfect time! Dr. Hamilton does all of his surgeries out of the Peter Lougheed Hosptial. I felt comforted by this because I personally like the idea of being in a hospital in case - God forbid - anything went wrong. The only con with this aspect is that there is little to no privacy in the day surgery ward of this hospital. Just a giant row of beds separated by curtains. This didn't bother me a ton, but it's noteworthy for anyone who is shy or wants privacy. There truly is none. Dr. Hamilton did all of my markings right in my little curtain "room" along with the observation of a Doctor in training. Because of this there was some very open discussion about my breasts which I know my neighbours all heard. Again, nothing traumatizing by any means, but it may not be for someone who wants a more private experience. He was in and out within 3 mins. Very quick, very efficient. I have to say that if you're someone who wants hand-holding (not that there's anything wrong with it!) Dr. Hamilton may not be the best fit for you. He was thorough but it was all quite to the point. I went in for surgery, fell asleep within a few moments, and woke up in recovery. I was sent back to day surgery and was released a few hours later. I had a one week follow up with Dr. Hamilton in which he looked at my breasts, removed my stitches (which was fine by the way) and have me a "training bra". He basically cleared me for most things that day with the exception of arm and chest exercises for 6 weeks. The appointment was quick and painless! I got for another follow up in 3 weeks. Dr. Hamilton in a nutshell is a wonderful surgeon. He's low pressure and confident in the work he produces. It isn't a big production like I've heard from other surgeons (he doesn't carry sizers in office or use photo technology). His work speaks for itself and his confidence and wealth of knowledge/experience makes him amazing!
