Finally I Started to Like to my Legs :)

WORTH IT
My calves and ankles have been a big issue all of my life. I've tried everything I could to make them look better, slimmer or at least in some shape but it wasn't really working. I'm small in the size , 162 cm in height and 56 kg in weight but have always felt that lower part of my body doesn't really match.
I looked for solutions everywhere until I found Dr. SU I have decided and for the first time in my life I'm convinced to do a lipo.
I travelled all the way from Europe to Tampa/Florida for my treatment. For me it was alot of preparations and work to do. But I wanted this strongly and I did it.
Dr. SU and the wonderful nurse Essence made this a very great experience, and the result was amazing. I wasn't surprised. It was what I expected specifically after reviewing alot of Dr. SU's work.
Two days after the treatment I travelled back to Europe. 3 hours first flight and again 11 hours second flight. I was very nervous specially that I had drainage in both of my ankles and the swelling was increasing. The nurse Essence comforted me it was normal. She was following with me, helping and calming me whenever I was able to contact her. Dr. SU did too. I really felt I'm in good hands.
I had up and down swelling the first ten days, a little pain here and there but was tolerable. If I set for long or when I wake up in the morning I would feel my legs are stiff but it gets better once I start walking slowly.
It's really getting better day after day, and I've got the ok to stop using the garment but I have decided to use it some more days to help with the swelling.
Today, I'm feeling very good and my life in relation to move and walk is as it was before treatment. The full shape of my legs is not there yet, but I can see some shape and I'm very happy about it. I have bought a dress for the memory of this "life changing decision" . I'm proud of my self to make this happen. And very thankful to Dr. SU and Essence.
Make sure to get your dreams done, but remember to do it with the right people!
Here are some photos for your reviews :)

Hiii! You look great! How long is the recovery time? Are you back to work? Are you able to fit in regular clothes or still too swollen!
September 4, 2019
Hi, and thank you..

The recovery time is various from person to another, i know it takes 3_6 months for full recovery and the shape to be fully there. But you can still see amazing shape of the legs every day. And you are able to move and walk just after the surgery (at least that's in my case) but a bit slower than normal.

The swelling increases from day 3 to ten. That's the most swelling I got. I was back to work after 10 days of the surgery but my legs would get swollen at the evening and sometimes it was painful but still tolerable.
I kept on stretching my calves and toes while I was on my desk as it helps with the stiff and moving. It's very important to keep yourself moving and use the garment. It helps alot with swelling.

I was able to fit in regular clothes as I'm using the garment. I was wearing loose pants but now I can wear jeans.

I hope this was helpful:)

Have you ever been told that you have lipedema? If your lower body has always seemed out of sync with your upper body, and it hasn't responded to diet or exercise, you may want to look into this possibility. When you google lipedema (not lympedema - that is something else) you will see photos of women who are not slender like you, but slender women can have this condition as well. You will also see pictures of women whose legs are quite disfigured by it, but don't be afraid - there are many types and stages and if you do have it, it doesn't mean this will happen to you. However, it could mean that the fat you have had removed will return, so you should really check this out. Take the quiz at the lipedema project dot org and see if you have any of the other symptoms.

I never had any lipedema. My legs were responding to diets and exercise but the shape of my legs were not good.

Hi this is quite interesting and what you mentioned applies 100% to me, I'm super skinny from the waist up but from the knee down I have fat deposits and chubby ankles' and as i work full time in an office they also swell by the end of day. When you said that even with liposuction the fat might return, I'm assuming it won't if I follow a good diet no?

Yes, from what I understand, it's really important not to gain after liposuction because you don't want to end up with Lipedema fat again. But it's also important to pay attention to any swelling (like from lymphedema which often accompanies Lipedema) and to proactively reduce inflammation because this helps allow the lipedema fat to form. If you haven't already, go to lipdemaproject dot org to learn more. Our OP here denies having lipedema yet says her "calves and ankles have been a problem her whole life." OK, in her shoes, I'd educate myself about it - not just dismiss. Finding out I have lipedema made me both sad and mad (why don't doctors know more about this? I should have been diagnosed years ago!) but I'm glad to have an explanation for why my legs look this way, and a plan for going forward.

Feeling the need to jump in here. I don’t understand why triplestep feels the need to insist other people have a disease that isn’t even confirmed or agreed upon as existing by the medical community. Further, there is a difference between having progressively worse, tender, prone-to-swelling legs (the “symptoms” of Lipedema) and legs that have a little extra fullness that masks the shape of the muscles and tendons. Please stop aggressively suggesting this woman has Lipedema and trying to tell her the fat will come back. It won’t. The fat cells are destroyed; it is impossible for them to come back. Your comments alone betray your ignorance of the science. OP looks great and will get to enjoy her beautiful results for the rest of her life.

I have to laugh at the notion that I "keep insisting" or am "aggressively suggesting" anything. I have posted two comments at this website EVER. And my second post was directed at Tamz83 who I think we can agree welcomed the information from my first comment. The OP does not have Lipedema it turns out, so it doesn't apply to her.

The thing about Lipedma is that so little is known about it, it really is up to the people who suffer with it to get the word out. I am grateful for the online communities where I learned more about it, and while the OP does not have it, if anyone who sees this in the future recognizes herself in my comments (like Tamz83 did) then it will have helped. Why would you have a problem with that?

You seem to know a little about Lipedema, so you must have Googled. Then you also may know that it is listed in the eleventh edition of the international classification of diseases, and also that doctors now have a diagnostic code for it. I'd say that's pretty well accepted. Google some more and you'll read about how Lipedema fat is not like regular fat and if a woman has a compromised lymph system, it can grow again - either at the site of liposuction, or in other places it finds a pathway due to inflammation or leaky vessels. Again, this will not happen to the OP as she does not have Lipedema. My comments were for Tamz. I do not believe it violates community rules here to address other commenters. (If it is then we're both in violation.)

If you or anyone else reading this doesn't have Lipdemea, that's great. You're not the audience for the information I'm sharing here. But while we're on the subject of being aggressive, why would you post about "symptoms" in quotation marks as if they do not exist? For some women, Lipedema pain is more than just tenderness and can be quite debilitating in it's later stages. Not sure why you - someone who does not suffer from it - would need to cast doubt on that. Really, that is just cruel.

I just wanted to say that I have both lymphedema and lipedema, and that lipedema fat cells that are removed from the body obviously won't magically reappear later. They are gone for good. And also, lipedema is developed by weight gain to begin with, and it only progresses by continued over eating. Stop spredning false informasjon, please, it's hard enough to be taken seriously with this disease as it is

Is this Dr a plastic surgeon?? I have read elsewhere he isn’t
I am interested in this procedure but travelling from Canada and want to be sure the surgeon is an expert
Thxs

I'm not sure I can answer this. But I'm sure that making this surgery is a life changing and is the best I've done.
I stopped worrying about what to wear, or about covering my legs. I feel my self the female I always wanted to be. And the more time goes, the more my legs are shaped and look nice.

I'm in month number 4 of healing so I still have two months for the full recovery and shape. But I'm enjoying every moment I'm wearing a dress.

The scars take time to fade, so you really need to find good products for helping that. Other than that, it's a wonderful conclusion.

I hope this helps.
