Almost 4 months and implant flip
So I rolled from my side to my back Friday night and felt my implant move! Didn’t hurt but it felt just very awkward. After I knew something had happened but I didn’t know what. My but had a flat spot, the implant was moving, and just felt wrong!
So I went to my doc this morning and my implant had flipped upside down ( the flat portion that sits on the inside against my muscle was now against my skin...so it was upside down). He just pushed and maneuvered the implant and flipped it back to the right side up. Didn’t hurt but again felt weird. Now I’m tender and taking it easy.
So ladies DONT’T FREAK OUT if this happens to you. It’s an easy fix and your doc can show you how to have someone flip the implant back correctly. This happens if your implant pocket is a little too big for the implant.
So lesson for the day, be gentle with these new bootys we got! Here are some before and after (current at 4 months). My hips went from 33 inches pre surgery to 37 post. I have a 397 cc inter-muscular implant.
6 weeks Post Op
There is definitely some dropping and fluffing left to do, especially on the left side, but everything is progressing as expected. My incisions look great. I have been applying mederma for a few weeks now and also putting Bio-Oil on the butt cheeks to make sure no stretch marks occur due to the expansion of the cheeks. :)
I do like the size. Almost wish I could have gone a tad bigger, but it does look very natural in clothes and you would never know I've had implants. I am still measuring 37 inches (up from 33 pre surgery) around the hips/butt. I think once all said and done, especially with back to full exercise, they will settle at 36 inches.
Happy healing ladies!
4 weeks post op
I don’t have much pain anymore. My butt muscles are still very tight so they haven’t loosened and allowed the implants to drop and fluff completely yet but there has been some dropping. If it’s anything like my breast implants it just takes time. I’m not rushing it.
I did start working out but only upper body. I still can’t fully bend over or raise my legs like before surgery because of the muscles that are still tight. I also am not doing lower body because I don’t want to stress those muscles as they are still healing. But working my upper body feels absolutely fine.
I’m back at work and driving. Not laying on my backside at all. Using the butt pillow to sit. I will occasionally lie on my side but not for too long as the butt will feel tight and sore if I do so too long. I can feel a slight pain when it is touched too hard. Also I don’t know if others have experienced this but it is still somewhat numb around and near the incisions sites. Nerves are starting to reconnect but it has that weird feeling of being numb but having some feeling. This is normal of course but I wanted to mention it.
My left cheek is still higher but it is also tighter. I am optimistic that everything will drop and be amazing after fully healed.
Happy healing ladies!!
Provider Review
Dr. Jimerson is definitely an artist in his profession. In my particular experience, he did not spend a lot of time with me as a patient. 10 minutes probably total for my entire experience. A few minutes pre-op to draw on the markings and a few more minutes post op before I left the recovery place. He was very nice and professional. For me, that amount of time was fine. I don't need a lot of doctor contact as long as the doctor is going to do a good job. He has a well oiled office and everyone who works in the office is great and proficient at answering questions. You are set up with your own personal surgery coordinator who is your main contact for everything pre and post op. My surgery coordinator, Tanisha, is amazing, so I felt completely taken care of. Edit: I had to go back to him at 4 months post op for a flipped implant and he was amazing. Fixed me right up! AND it was 2 days before Christmas! Thank you Dr. J!!!
