MY REASONS AND THOUGHT PROCESS As stated about,...
MY REASONS AND THOUGHT PROCESS
As stated about, I'm 26 years old. For 6 years I competed in Muay Thai Boxing. I knew little about nutrition at the time, just high protein, low carbs on 18 hours of cardio a week. After each fight I would eat everything and anything I hadn't allowed myself over the 12 weeks prep. This would cause me to dramatically change sizes in weight.
I eventually found body sculpting and learned about balance. I was finally happy with my body, living a realistic lifestyle with food and exercise although my breasts had paid the price from the previous years.
I was so proud of my body but I hated the way my breasts looked. Being someone who carries all my weight from my hips up my breasts had (through fight training) gone from a B to a DD many times. I felt self conscious to take my bra off in front of my husband, who always supported me and never mentioned a thing about they looked, but I still hated them. So I made the decision for myself.
Many people suggested wait until I have children, but I don't want them until I'm at least 30. In saying that, who's to say I can even have children? Or that I won't die in a years time and never even had the chance to think about them? I believe in living in the now! And in the end I didn't want to wait until I 'had kids" because what if I didn't "finish" until I was 36? Do I have to wait another 10 years? It just didn't make sense to me.
So I decided to ignore the negative people in my life and live how I wanted to. It's not one else's business in the end. It wasn't a decision made lightly. I spent a good 2 years thinking about it and discussing it with my husband.
In the end I went with Dr Gaffield in Bundaberg. I live in Hervey Bay and I had heard great things from my Bundaberg friends who had seen him. He has many years of experience and the website looked extremely professional.
I actually had two consults with him, one prior to my wedding and then one again before my operation this year. I waited as we spent our money on other required commitments and I was till Thai Boxing at the time, so my weight balance wasn't quite right yet either. It wasn't until I felt balance in my life with food and sports that I thought of doing it again.
DR GAFFIELD AND SURGERY
The whole experience was fantastic! I meet with Dr Gaffield and we discussed any questions I had and all the details of the procedure. He is very friendly, wears a smile and makes you feel very comfortable. He then sent me in to see his assistant and nurse (she joins him in the theatre) who he has been working with for many years, Sacha, who I adore! She is absolutely lovely and so professional.
We talked about sizing and tried a few options on in a material bra.
Afterwards I had her email and any thoughts I had, I emailed her, and she replied with answers. It was great to have a base of contact prior, and post, operation. It made me feel very comfortable.
I was changing my mind on sizing so I was allowed to met with Sacha once again on the morning of my operation and I took my husband so we could make sure we were both 100% happy.
The day of surgery was as pleasant as could be! Early morning at the hospital. My husband got to stay with me until they started to prep me. I was given a nice heated blanket while I waited for a bed.
I met the anaesthetist. Then Dr Gaffield an Sacha met me. He drew some lines on me lol. Then eventually I was rolled into surgery. Everyone was chatty and friendly. They gave me a relaxant and I passed out on that alone prior to even getting my GA.
I have had many friends say that when they have gone to less expensive surgeons that have to wear a bra. Usually for about 12 week. I DID NOT have to wear a bra. Which I LOVED.
I have come to the understanding that each Dr works differently and each surgery / patient is different so the reasons for someone to have to wear bra comes down to the decision to each surgeon.
In my case, I was pleased to wake up and I was be to look down under my shirt and see my new breasts!
I woke up about 1.5 hours after my operation. I was told by Sacha I was not going to be discharged until at least 3.30pm as they want to monitor my response to drugs and food and to let me rest which I was pleased to hear.
I had a nurse attend to me. She called my husband for me. She was also helpful with giving me painkillers lol. I was in a theatre with about 10 other people but I was then rolled into a more private room. There was a division was separating myself and another one of Dr Gaffields patients.
I then feel asleep for about 2 hours. Obviously needed.
I woke up to my husband and the nurse bringing me food. I was then giving my pain killers. After chatting and resting some more my husband the nurse helped bath me and dress me. I was then wheeled out of hospital at about 4pm. With all the sleeping and painkillers it made the day pass quickly lol. Everyone was lovely!
POST OPERATION
I went to see Sacha the next day and touch base. She explained how my breasts would chance over time "dropping" into place once the swelling left. She also gave me her mobile number and she was available to me at any time.
I met with Sacha again the following week. Again 2 weeks after that. I can't recall how many more visits we had, but it was quite a lot lol. I had my last meeting this week. Dr Gaffield attended this time and I got to approval that I'm 100% healed and done!'
MY BREASTS
I LOVE THEM....love them!!!!! They look fantastic! My scar literally sits on the crease. You can not even see if unless I lift my breast up to show you! It's already faded a little as well (I've been persistent with boi-oil and Nutri-oil). They feel great as well. My husband and close friends are surprised how soft they feel (although my breasts were use to being a larger size, each person is different).
RECCOMENDATION:
I would 100% recommend Dr Gaffield & Sacha as they give you 100% of their time and your money's worth from their service. I can't imagine having left the hospital any earlier on the day and I love that I always had someone to touch base with pre and post operation. I am obviously also extremely happy with the results of my breast.
I am looking forward to receiving to "before & after" shots that they also provide you with on a USB :)
