Bullhorn Lip Lift wound healing

$1,200
The wound healed a lot. I am also able to smile normally even though it hurts a little bit and feels very tight. I am still not satisfied with the outcome because the amount of skin that was removed doesn't fit my face proportions, and I will never get the skin back. The wound even though it healed a lot, you can see that the scar will be huge at least in the middle and on the left side unter my nose. I feel a lot of remorse when it comes to the LL procedure. And as a young girl I wound not recommend to other young grils

You look good
You are right in that you won't get your skin back. However the skin you have will stretch out. That is precisely the reason women have more than one lip lift. The distance will widen due to age and gravity. Your scar will also improve. It will just take time.
Do you mind saying where you had your lip lift done? If not the Dr. what part of the country? Are you in the US. The reason I ask is that the amount you paid is really low.
I am from germany and the price is also for germany pretty low i guess thats why it also turned out very bad
Could you post an update Please? Hope you’re doing good
I will post an Update as soon as I have time. But it is still not looking good by any means

This comment is hurtful:/
Dear if the wound is completely healed you can start using silicone cream. Look into mederma or biocornerum, they both have good reviews. Also keep the wound moist with Vaseline ointment. I would stop using the antibiotic because it’s been a month already, if the wound is healed then you don’t need it anymore. After a few months if you don’t like the scar, there are many options for you, co2, dermabrasion, microneedling, the scar looks best after 1 year! During the first year it still softens and changes color. Remember to use SPF when you go outside on the scar because the sun will make healing worse. Please keep us updated every few months so that we can help you
We don't have Mederma or Biocornerum in Germany, but I am bought a silicon gel namef Kelo-cote. I hope it will do just the same:) I just stopped using the antibiotic cream today, and used the silicon gel instead. I really hope I wont be needing laser:( But I will do laser treatments if the scar is not healing well. Thank you again and yes I will do an update:)
Im sorry this happened, im sure everything wil be ok! At least not too much skin was taken away! It looks good! I had maaany surgeries and all of them went wrong, i ended up with no breast tissue and muscles from implants and a missing bone on my nose thats now covered with filler that made might turn me blind if i keep getting it!! I had a lip lift yesterday and looks good for now! He just cut my nasal sills a little but after everything that happened i accept it, im just happy thst my lips look good!! Urs too! Maybe take vitamins! Im also hoping they help with my skin to heal faster.vitamin c, d,e,k,a and collagen are the best for skin
Thank you for your comment!:) I am sorry that you have been such unlucky when it comes to Plastic Surgeries. This sounds though I hope you find a solution for these problems with your surgeons. I hope your Healing Process is a less intense than mine.:) I guess my surgeon also cutted a little bit into my nasal sills:/ I guess it's not so problematic?
No your nasal sill is still intact (thank goodness). You “only” had a bad infection in the wound unfortunately… I really hope it will heal better but you might have to get a revision, tbh. But don’t panic, everything will work out if you give it time (sucks I know). I’m in the same boat but I’m getting a revision this summer from Dr Mascaró, then I will be 2 year post OP from my first LL. But like I said before, the FB group can help you a lot, it’s easier and faster to get help there than here on RS.
Yes, you are right. Thank U! I really hope that I wont need a revision because I don't want more skin to be removed:/ I hope laser is gonna do its thing for me. Do you need a revision because of the scar or are you unsatisfied with your results in general? Anyways, I wish U the best for your revision:)
I have a bad scar, it’s wide in some places, placed low on my columella. I had an infection at one place on it, one stitch came off 5 h post op which made the wound come apart on one side. So many reasons. Lasers only help with hypertrophic scars what I’ve learned and can worsen indented (atrophic) scars
It doesn’t look like he cut too much, or your nasal sills. My scar got a little red and veiny on one small area and i thought it looks like blood vessel dilation? It happens sometimes on scars. This happened on my cheeks from filler too and I used Tranexamic acid serum
I found this:
Tranexamic acid works by inhibiting the breakdown of blood clots and can potentially help reduce bleeding and blood vessel dilation. It's thought to have an anti-inflammatory effect as well.
Ignore my username btw i made this account when i was 16 lol. I think you should use silicone sheet and tranexamic acid and see how much they help:) i believe they will help
Mine surgeon cut almost all my will off and now I have ugly nostrils and all nasal fluids flows out my nostril when I have flu etc so it’s problematic for me, but in your photos I don’t thinks it’s that bad
What do you mean with will? This doesn't sound good. Is there a something to fix this or will it go away with time? I hope so:( For me it's really not that bad then, you are right
Yes I meant nasal sill, the base of my nose, sorry for the typo!
I just got my stitches removed and my nasal wig has two dents and my nasal sill has a huge dent
This is not good, did your surgeon react to this?
She meant to type nasal sill, not will. It is the bottom part of the rim of the nostril. From what I can see your PS didn't cut your's off but may have cut into them.
Hi has it got any better?
Hey, it got a little bit better but not so much that I think it would need an Update. But I am gonna do an Update in 2 weeks because I will then have reached the 2 month mark. Thanks for asking, I hope you are doing good!
I hope your scar ends up healing nicely, if it doesn’t tho you are lucky your nose is still in tact so just make sure if you get a revision you go to a good dr who is known for good scar healing

Wishing you all the best

Still looks awful. I really don't recommend the LL surgery. It really is embarrassing for me to go outside and me speech also looks distorted. Some strangers asked me about what has happened to my face. I really hope that this improves over time otherwise I woundn't know what to do

Hello, in your next update could you Please add a before picture? It is possible that your doctor removed too much skin causing too much tension.
I just posted one so you can see how it looked before:)
I think your philtrum was already short and you didn’t need a lip lift :( I believe this is why the wound healed poorly and came apart, in the newest photo I think I see that the scar did not close up and is indented? What did your doctor say about this? I would have this stitched again if that is possible now, but if not, i would start caring for the scar when it heals completely with silicone creams and then do some rounds of laser after a few months. I hope it gets better for you!
Thank you for your empathy and advice. I appreciate it!:) My doctor told me that my wound now just needs time to heal. Stitches aren't possible anymore it now just has to heal on its own. I still use antibiotic cream, my doctor told me that I can start with silicion gel now also but I am a little bit scared to put it on the wound. I will Update here if something new happens.:)
Your doctor should have not done this. You did not need it at all.
