It all started in August 2016...

My allergies were SO bad, that I went to my Primary doctor for help. Basically, I couldn't breathe! He offered me a Kenalog shot to help. A Kenalog shot is a steroid injected into soft tissues of the body to treat inflammation. My doctor asked me if I would like it in my arm or my butt. He warned me that it MAY cause an indentation in my skin, but that it was pretty rare.

Go figure it happened to me!

So I waited a year and a half to see if it would correct itself. It never did. That's when I consulted my plastic surgeon who did my tummy tuck (you can see that review on this website a swell). Instead of doing multiple fat transfers (because it was so deep and the skin was so damaged), he opted to literally cut the dent OUT and smooth my skin. I had a ledge that was created by this ugly dent as well on my hip that was VERY noticeable when wearing form fitting dresses or leggings.

Upon looking at my end result, you can see how smooth I am now. I no longer looked deformed in clothing and I feel SO much better about myself. My plastic surgeon made very thin incisions just like he did with my tummy tuck incision.

Quite honestly though, it wasn't about acquiring a scar from this. It was about looking and feeling better in my clothing!

As far as pain goes, it was all skin, so it wasn't that bad. I only took three pain pills total! It's been almost two weeks and I back to walking slowly on the treadmill as well as lifting weight while sitting. The only thing I miss is being able to lay on my right side!

If you have experienced a dent from the Kenalog shot, WAIT at least a year to see if it heals itself. That is known to happen :)
