I had my buccal fat pads removed from my cheeks by Dr Rodrigo to achieve a slimmer face with more defined cheekbones. I already had a slim figure but no matter how slim I was, my cheeks retained their slight puffiness. I had seen a number of before and after photos of patients who had this done by Dr Rodrigo and they all had a great result which made it easy to put my trust in him. As I found out, Dr Rodrigo is also one of the few plastic surgeons in Europe who performs this procedure.
The surgery was done under sedation and local anesthesia therefore my post surgery recovery was quick. I only had mild pain after the operation, which subsided by the second day, but I had a huge amount of swelling. Four days after the operation I received an injection to reduce my face swelling which at that stage still wasn't going down on its own. This helped significantly and five days later after I went back to work, I looked fairly presentable.
I am extremely happy with the results - I achieved the slimmer and more defined look I was aiming for. You need to have patience though, it took two weeks for the swelling to reduce fully and my face to get back to its pre-surgery state and another two to three weeks before I could see the new definition on my face.
I was very happy with the clinic, the nurses and the care and attention I received from Joanna. Everything was explained very clearly, I received a detailed outline of how the procedure was performed and what to expect during recovery. I even received a list of supplements that I was recommended to start taking a month before my surgery to aid the recovery process. Joanna was very caring and supportive which helped greatly during my recovery. She was also the one who made sure that I received the injection during my first check-up to reduce the swelling quicker.
I would definitely go back to Dr Rodrigo for any procedures I may have in the future.
