Negative Experience - Unprofessional and Ineffective

Traumatic Experience- Worst Cosmetic Day Ever

$500
I waited a year to write this. Needed the dust to settle.
Online consultation, he said I was a good candidate, and I would see a difference from the procedure. I made an appointment and drove across the border for this. Let it be known, I have had about 8 different cosmetic procedures, most under general anesthesia, and 3 of which were local anesthesia. I say this, to illustrate, I know how to keep my nerves calm, and expect to have some amount of discomfort, I'm very reasonable about the fact that there will be discomfort.
Bedside manner, atrocious. He acted like he was mega hyped up on something (Let's say coffee), in a way that made me incredibly nervous. I try not to judge precise people by personality, because honestly, quirks do not indicate skill level.
Let's get to the facts: We simply asked the receptionist if my companion had to wait outside or if they could come in to the procedure room. The Lazos yelled from the other room "NO no no! absolutley not! NO way!", Uh okay. I should have immediately realized that his irrational outburst was a bad sign.
I was leaned back in the chair and applied a shot of local pain killer. The cutting started right after, almost no time. Horrible pain. I calmly raised my hand asking to say something. Said, "I everything you're doing, it's very painful. Does it need time to take effect, or do I need more pain killer?"
"Okay FINE, i'll give you more!" He then shoots my cheek again, and as I am leaned back, I feel the back of my through FILL UP with liquid- Not knowing If it is blood or what- I just know that my nose is congested and I am essentially being water boarded. No one is suctioning out this liquid. I raise my hand and they immediately act like I'm high maintanance, like I'm this crazy patient losing my mind in their office. I lean over and spit the ton of what turns out to be about 1 oz of pain killer that shot out of my cheek and blood. My tongue is numb and my cheek is not.
I tell them, "Im sorry, I couldnt breath, there was a huge puddle in the back of my mouth, can you help with that? Did any pain killer say in the cheek?" I cannot describe to you how completely calm I was staying, and said this with total kindness.
Lazos said " Wow, okay, Listen you are freaking out. I don't think procedures like this are for you. Are you normally on some medication that keeps you calm that you didn't take today?"
Yes, he called me crazy. I was in shock, gaslit. and let the procedure happen. It took 10 more minutes, and I was absolutely in emotional shock. They showed me a pan with tiny fat capsules, and honestly it could've come from my face or literally anywhere in the room for all I know. I left, and immediately fell into tears in my companion's arms. They were irrate, because they could hear the doctor from the waiting room and didnt know whether to come in and save me.
What's worse is, I swelled to triple my regular cheeks, it didn't go down for a week. And a year later- I still see NO difference.

I'm so sorry you had a terrible experience. I had this procedure and chin lipo with him as well and I also noticed a few red flags, but just like you I've have had plenty procedures and know the importance of staying calm. I'm still recovering but I haven't noticed much difference in my cheeks as well
Thank you for sharing that with me. I'm sorry that happened, and hopefully all of us sharing can do some good. Best of luck to you in your recovery.
