Hey there,
I'm gonna cut to the chase and say that the experience was everything you would expect it to be and that if you've decided to do the same procedure to listen to my recommendations.
1. Take your own car when you cross the border. You need either your birth certificate and ID or a passport. You also need a valid car registration that is not expired to cross the border.
I didn't have my new registration yet so the boarder patrol man asked me to bribe him. I gave him $40.
The reason I WOULDNT park in the US and cross to take a taxi is that the line to get back into the states is maybe 2+ hours long. The taxi drivers also will scam you if you're American, they charge up to 100USD for a 10 minute ride. If you just came from the procedure it will be a terrible experience. We got back through the border in less than 10 min when in the car.
You probably should be a good driver (confident) when driving in Mexico because it's definitely not like it is in the US. Have the more confident driver do the driving. There is a huge roundabout right before you get to the office that is not good to hesitate when driving through. Also DONT BRING ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR just as a precaution.
2. Park outside the building in the shared parking lot, I would bring a companion and have that companion stay in the car to watch and make sure nothing happens to it. When we parked a lot of people were watching us and definitely knew we weren't from here. My brother stayed in the car because of this. The procedure is less than 20 min from start to finish so they won't be waiting for long. The building the doctor is in is the lightest beige of all the surrounding buildings. it is right above the the only pharmacy around. You're looking for the double glass doors that have a big 2800 above them.
3. Second floor on the left all the way down is his office, office 16.
My experience: I rushed in because I was a little late and they immediately took me to meet the doctor. The employees were so sweet and unbelievably kind. I asked one of them if she's done the procedure before and she said yes and showed me. She had amazing results and did it 3 years ago she said.
I had no questions so he numbed my cheeks. It was exactly the same feeling when you go to the dentist so don't worry. You will not feel any pain but you will feel the sensation (tugging etc).
Made the incision and started pulling it out. This is so funny when I compare it but it was like pulling gum off a sidewalk. You can hear it detach from your cheeks which is honestly the most uncomfortable part.
I read in someone else's review that he pulled the fat out and lays it on your tongue which is not really true because it just happens to touch your tongue as he's pulling the rest out. He does not purposely let it jut hang out in your mouth after it comes out lmfao.
There is a bitter taste to the medicine/cauterizing he's doing but it's literally nothing to worry about. I've had more bitter cooking wines and you the reader have had more bitter things too. He did the other side and I was able to look at what he pulled out which was very exciting.
He cauterized the incisions which smells like smoke and i can barely even seen them when I look into my mouth.
I asked if I can drive and they said yes absolutely so I drove us back across the boarder. Make sure you go through the left lanes that say READY in green, not the century lanes on the right which is for people who have essentially a fastrak for getting through the boarder.
It hurts the most the first day, just super sore but I took Tylenol and I never had to take it again.
You will love the results. Swelling goes down after day 3 and I looked like my normal self after day 5 (the self that didn't have the fat pads removed) so as it continues to go down I know that it will hollow out.
Don't be scared or apprehensive! The bedside manner is nice, it might seem faster than American plastic surgeons but you're getting the exact same procedure for 1/6 the cost. Get excited for your results!! Comment if you have any questions
