Asian male in my late 20s - 70% removal.

I did buccal fat removal (reduction) with Dr Mesa in November 2024.
For context I am an Asian male in my late 20s. My main concerns were chubby cheeks that never seem to go away despite being a skinny person. I wanted a gentle reduction in my cheek size without appearing gaunt.
Dr Mesa was very experienced, and able to pinpoint exactly how much needed to be removed. He pointed to past patients he had and recommended a 75% removal. He said I had high cheekbones characteristic of being Asian and would not experience gauntness.

On the day of the procedure, I asked for a more conservative 70% which he agreed to.
The procedure was fast and I did not experience any discomfort.

I am about 3.5 months post-op now and I am very happy with the results. It is indeed a subtle reduction in my cheeks. In hindsight I wish I had listened to Dr Mesa's advice to do 75% instead of 70%, but I do not have any regrets otherwise. My cheeks are still plump but less so now, and it looks very natural as though I lost a bit of weight there.
