Finally ate!
I was sick of toddler’s food at this point and I feel like I could eat solid food again. Had some potatoes and shrimp at McDonald’s. It wasn’t very easy to eat but I honestly couldn’t wait any longer.
Buccal fat removal
Wanted a slimmer face since forever. Found out about this procedure a year ago and started my research on doctors, pros and cons etc. Finally decided to do it on 20th of December 2018, thought it’d be enough time to recover til new year. The procedure was done in Russia, cost around 650€.
Found the doctor through Instagram reviews.
The place was nice and clean and the doctor was very friendly and easy to talk to. The operation took about 40 mins to an hour, I don’t remember specifically. I also requested for the skin inside the mouth to be cut and tightened (sorry hard to describe in English) so that the cheeks wouldn’t fall down after the fat removal.
The way the procedure went:
-Injected anesthesia to both cheeks
-laser cut through the first cheek (hurt quite a bit but the cutting only took 4 seconds)
-fat taken out (this hurt like if they were trying to take out my brains)
-repeat last two steps on the other cheek
-laser on one cheek to cut very thin layer of the skin(didn’t even feel it)
-same in the other
-stitches (didn’t hurt at all)
Then they bandaged my whole face and head, gave me instructions for the next week, prescribed antibiotics, made an appointment for a check up a week later and I went home. I felt very sick, swollen, nauseous and heavy headed. On the way home I had to get off the subway because I felt like I could throw up at any minute. Went to the pharmacy to get everything I was prescribed and got a taxi. Every minute I felt worse and worse, my head hurt like crazy I wanted to run through a wall. I can’t even describe how bad it was. Apparently they had the bandages way too tight so the blood stopped flowing to my head (I already have very cold feet and hands so the blood is not flowing there too much and the bandage made everything even worse). At first I only cut a little bit to make it less tight and then took it all off. All the head pain went away after that. I didn’t redo the bandages.
Till day 2 my mouth was all weird and I couldn’t move my left nostril due to anesthesia. I had a very mild pain in my cheeks for the first 4 days. Had to rinse my mouth with antiseptic? I think for countless times a day and after any drinks and liquid food. Couldn’t brush my teeth til day 7. Now it’s my 9th day and I still cannot fully open my mouth and can only brush my teeth in some places. Can’t eat any solid food so I’ve been eating liquid purée and drinks from the toddlers section of the grocery store. I think I could start eating normal again in 2-3 days. I think some people could start eating solid food but it’s not comfortable yet for me and I don’t want to put any pressure on the wounds just to be safe.
The swelling is down by a lot but there is still some swollen tissue that prevents my face from looking normal. I cannot open my mouth wide yet so talking is quite hard and smiling is even harder.
I can already see the results and I’m very happy with everything. I know it will just get better after the swelling fully goes down.
P.s. about the photos. I know my cheek bones aren’t symmetrical due to an injury I had 10 year ago when I slipped in the gyms shower on one side of my face, nothing was broken but it was heavily bruised and my left cheekbone wasn’t the same since so no need to comment about that thanks
